Well, back from vacation, and while it was just what I needed to relax and let go of the stress from the entire month of June...it was not at all what I needed regarding my way of eating.

What way of eating???

I basically ate what I wanted, drank what I wanted, did what I wanted...and didn't look back. Until this morning when I stepped on the scale.

YIKES! Will record shortly...but it's not pretty! 160!!!! Ok, sure, some of that is water, (tooooo much salt/sodium this past week)... but most of it was just poor food choices.

Tastes great going in... will take months to get back under control.

How stupid!

Can't turn back the hands of time now can we?

Onward and Downward... off to the gym!

Maybe now that all the excitement is over you can refocus on you. The old habits will quickly fall into place!

Really 7 pounds isn't toooooo bad. It'll be gone by next weekend if you hop back on the bandwagon.

it won't take too long...and regardless...I am in this for the duration! It was the first time in three years that I really took a complete and total break from eating low carb. I just simply ate what looked good to me, or what I wanted at the time... now it's time to start again.

As I read your journal entry, I realize just how vulnerable all of us are to the outside world of carbs, old tastes, etc. It seems that several of us have struggled endlessly this summer with staying on tract and not allowing ourselves to be subtlely engulfed by the sight and smell of carbs. Yes, we all know how to get back on the bandwagon and yes, we all know how much work that it will take to lose what we have already lost again. No fun, but instead of flogging ourselves over the gain, we may need to give ourselves a hug and tell ourselves that even those who inspire sometimes fall off the wagon. As you said it, we are all in this for the duration...little discrepancies along the way are okay as long as they don't become our new WOE. Thank you for sharing your thoughts....and as you well know, all of us at FS are in your corner. So glad that you had a wonderful vacation....

Hey Gwen - just left you a message on your journal. You know... I had a great day today. Just a lazy kind of day (after the short gym visit). But the heat is getting to me I think. Been trying to keep up w/ my water, and making sure I DO actually eat...healthy food choices...but I have basically no appetite from the heat. Just sweat! My poor metabolism probably doesn't know what to do w/ me...so it just retains fluids, and retains fat... incase I am going to go on a long fast, or a low calorie stint. It's not intentional...it's not what I want it to think...but can you blame it. Just don't feel like putting anything in there. From the water I am drinking, I feel bloated all day. Oh well, eventually I will get it back on track.

You really needed the break Paula. I'm sure a lot of it is water weight and it will be off in no time

Paula, I'm so glad you were able to enjoy a much-needed vacation and break from the normal routine. You've had a lot on your plate these past few months and I'm sure you needed that change of pace. One complete deviation in THREE years (!!!) is still a wonderful record!! The good news is that you know how this WOE goes.....you know what you need to do....and you have the perseverance and dedication to get 'er done! You'll have that graph upside down in short order!
