Ended the day with a very satisfying meal. I should probably eat some vegetables with dinner, but I ate 2-3 servings at lunch, had a banana for snack, and opted to fill myself up with MGD 64 with dinner instead ;) I am absolutely stuffed. I think eating all of those vegetables at lunch really does the trick. I'm surprised that I stayed under my RDI yesterday and today. Makes me wonder if calories are understated on FS? I've been trying to err on the side of overestimation when it comes to my portions - and I have that pretty well down anyway. Guess sticking to eating well and exercising will illustrate it pretty well in weeks and months to come.

You're eating a great diet! Good, healthy whole foods - good for you! No stupid 100 calorie packs or "diet" foods, etc. Anyway, I wanted to throw in here my thoughts on FS's estimations. I have a Bodybugg, calculates the calories burned throughout the day using a monitor strapped to your arm. It's supposedly fairly accurate. I've compared my workouts to what the FS site claims is burned for each activity and I think most of the time, FS's calorie burn numbers are a LOT higher than what my Bodybugg records. So I usually adjust the minutes for my workouts in order to come in line with my Bodybugg numbers. The other thing I think they overestimate is the RDI. If I put my info in and put it at low active, it shows 1700. I work out 6 days a week, at least and think I put in a lot of effort for that one to one and a half hours each day. But I'm not very active outside of that. Anyway, the point is, I think if I aimed for 1700 calories a day, I'd never lose any weight. So I put mine in as sedentary and it shows me 1400. I think I should be able to lose weight at that number, although it's been painstakingly slow : ) Let me know how it works out for you.

I concur that FS overstates calories burned. And their RDI is way too high the heavier you are. However, now that I've gotten to a more normal weight, it's close. I ignore the RDI and instead look at the exercise calendar. It claims I burn 2100 calories a day if I just sleep and rest. I think that's about right. So if I subtracted 1000 to lose 2 pounds a week, it would be 1100, which is too low and I can't live with it. I can live with 1300-1500 so I lose a little less than that, about 1 pound a week. I also exercise 5-6 days a week at the gym for over an hour. I think everyone is going to be just a little different, but the older you are, the less calories you burn as your metabolism slows with age so that's another thing to consider. As far as entering in calories, I think it's a good idea to check the nutritional info on this site against the packaging. Since users enter it in themselves, there are errors and I've found many over the last year and a half. Your foods sound great though! Nice job avoiding "diet" foods.
