Journal de Eringiffin, 16 juil. 12

Friday I had thin crust pizza and the child size of mint ice cream with chocolate chips at Cold Stone Creamery. I have been fighting my way back into ketosis ever since. I am starting to wonder if my body is getting more and more resistant to ketosis. Or, maybe my ketosticks are expired. In any case, I gained 0.6 lbs from Friday's little indiscretion and I haven't been able to lose it yet. So today is day 3 of the all protein regimen. This is getting old.

638 kcal Gras: 37,44g | Prot: 69,47g | Glu: 2,46g.   Petit Déjeuner: Pepper Jack Cheese, colby jack cheese. Déjeuner: Chunk Light Tuna in Water, dill pickle relish, light mayo. Dîner: blue cheese crumbles, beef tenderloin. plus...

Hang in there - it will even out. On July 4th, I had a "baby" cone at Dairy Queen - LOL - so I get the "child" size at Cold Stone.

You can do this! But one of the reasons I don't do Adkins is my cheating/spiking, I like to be able to go eat whatever then get right back on track the next meal or next day. Not saying that is what you should do, though. You just need something that is sustainable and makes you happy and gets results!

I guess maybe I am just getting to that point in any sort of diet where it gets harder to lose weight and the planning and the weighing and measuring gets tiresome. I really need to start incorporating some more exercise into my routine.

I try to limit my "cheating." I can't say I can't have any ice cream (or whatever), because then that is all I think about and when I give in, I give in big. I have to let myself have those things, like ice cream, but in moderation. And, if I do cheat, I try to do it early in the day so I have more time to burn it off. I have never done Adkins, so I'm not 100% sure how it works, but there does come a time when it gets harder to lose. Change up your exercise routine or drink more water. If you have netflix, they have an okay selection of exercise videos. Hang in there, though! You will get there!

@HCB, yeah it seems like the child size is just the perfect amount to soothe my sweet tooth these days. @Heidi, you are right about not being able to easily do cheats/spikes on the low carb track. Still, I tend to lose more weight that way overall and stay more satisfied throughout the day. I really only struggle when that TOM comes around. I'll be really glad when I get to the point where I can start transitioning a few more carbs into my everyday diet, though, to even out the "water weight" gain when I do have a spike day.

@alliecat, I do have Netflix and that is a great idea. You are right about the water, too. The last couple of days I haven't been drinking enough.

Five or six month into a diet has always been the hardest for me, weight loss slows, really start missing all of those foods that I have been denying myself. Just keep in mind that this is something you will have to do for the rest of your life, make sure it is sustainable.

@FOL, you are so right! I am approaching that 5 month mark. I have to really evaluate what foods am I finding it difficult to resist and think about how to work them into the "plan" somehow. It's almost always pizza and chocolate that I eat when I am feeling deprived.

I think that's why spike days and carb cycling work for some people. Gives you a chance to get those cravings out of your system. Push thru this and it will get easier.
