Butter in the coffee? I’m trying to imagine what that taste like. I thinking of how much calories butter adds to the coffee.🌹

So I’ve been seeing posts like this a lot - can you please explain putting butter in coffee to me ? Like what are the benefits or why are people using it as a substitute?

I have Bulletproof coffee every morning. I'm on a low carb high fat diet. I use it as a replacement for breakfast. It tastes great and the fat helps the caffeine work in your system longer than normal black coffee. I make my coffee with 1tbsp butter
2tbsp coconut oil
and a splash of heavy cream

I’ve heard some add coconut oil too. I wonder how that tastes.

When you are on Keto, you use fat to supply you with all your energy instead of carbs like regular diets or protein on an Atkins diet. Adding the butter to the coffee gives me my fat for the morning. It’s hard to get enough fat without adding too much protein.
It’s taste good. It only changes the flavor slightly. It mellows it. Normally I take my coffee almost black so this way work well for me. Coconut oil gives it a slight sweet coconut taste to it. It’s not bad either.

I did use butter, but I got a great deal on some virgin coconut oil and honestly, that is so much better. It gives a nuttier more creamy mouthfeel. I prefer the coconut oil. I will go back to butter once I am out, because the stuff is expensive!!

Coconut oil tastes great but when I am counting calories, I don't use it plus it is expensive. Hey. I like your mug. I have an Idaho one with a horse, of course.

KB CUTIE-i did that with Kerry gold butter and coconut oil. It was ok but good grief it’s hard for me to finish the whole cup.

I went through a period of time that I had bulletproof coffee every morning.
I remember it did taste good and it gave me a lot of energy. Good luck with whatever you do.

I also never heard or tried with an egg. It took away my appetite and gave me a lot of energy ☕️

GOOGLE "Bulletproof Coffee" to get the real recipe - and be sure to blend the coffee to a froth, too.

Also Bulletproof coffee is part if the Intermittent Fasting plan - usually not just coffee. In keto, you increase fat and lower carbs.

For skeptics, remember that butter isn't that different from heavy whipping cream!

I have found out that I can have a full fat Latte with sugar free Cinnamon Dulce from Starbucks. I otherwise have not advanced to the butter or oil in my coffee, Only one week on keto.

I was a lill weary about using butter or oil in my coffee on the first day so I used cream but I just can’t stomach heavy cream like that. A splash is fine but not enough to match the calories of butter. I also haven’t tried making it the “real” way in the blender. I just stir it in. Does it change the consistency?

I use a little hand mixer thing that I got on Wish and it makes it frothy and smoother. I enjoy it.
