Okay, I'm here. I'm currently hovering between 209-211. At my heaviest, I hit 242. A year of cutting out soft drinks and fast food -- more than anything due to severe lack of funds -- resulted in me losing around 20 pounds. Two months ago I started exercising -- slowly -- and I modified my diet. Which is to say that for the first time in my life I'm paying attention to what I eat. So much has changed just from me actually THINKING about what I eat. Also, I've learned what it feels like to be hungry. When I was fatter, at my fattest, I was rarely hungry. I made sure to always know what my meals would be. When I didn't know, or when I thought I might have to eat something I didn't like -- "make do" -- I'd get really cranky. Physical hunger pangs were extremely rare. So now I've lost the fear, and it feels good. Not to say I'm starving myself or anything, it's just weird and amazing to know I can feel hungry and the world won't end. Plus, now I'm letting my body tell me when it needs food. Who'd a thunk it? Sigh.
