I am just looking for a little advice here. I've been weighing are at least trying to weigh myself every day since I've started, so I guess what it comes down to me asking is am I being a little abusive with the scale and if so what are your thoughts on how often to weigh yourself?

I'm not very consistent. If I weigh every day it frustrates me. So it's weekly or if I'm doing really well every couple days.

I was weighing myself everyday and for me it wasn’t good. It didn’t make me happy if anything made more self conscious of myself. I stopped went to one day a week and by how I was feeling and how my clothes are fitting me. For me it works...but everyone is different

It depends entirely upon you. I do weigh myself daily, but I only track losses. I am aware the scale will go up and down based on a number of factors so I don’t let it effect me emotionally. For some people, they become quite demotivated when the scale goes up. I just look at it as I’m evaluating as much data as possible, making sure I analyze my results without OVER analyzing. It’s just a bit of data (that I combine with other data like how I feel, measurements, how my clothes fit, and how I look overall). No one piece of data can give you the full picture.

I weigh myself every morning. It is disheartening when the scale goes up, but, when I average out the week, I can see my weight is going down. I might add that my husband at one point confiscated the scale and wouldn't let me look at it for a month. That actually was a bad thing because I wasn't able to see what foods were affecting me in a negative way (I often drank too much coffee with cream, so that kept me from losing, but I couldn't really see it because I wasn't weighing daily). When he gave me the scale back, I had to promise that I wouldn't complain bitterly every time I gained a few tenths of a pound. He actually had a point by taking the scale away. I was becoming too invested in every morning weigh in, and I was unhappy throughout the day if the scale was up even a tad.

Don't forget the way your close fit. My scale isn't moving but my shorts and shirts are getting loose. The scale doesn't always show your hard work! I measure every 2 weeks. I measure my arms, thighs, waist and hips.

Like @katyb said. Every morning, average out the week. I only post when weekly average shows I have lost weight, but I keep track of daily weight, weekly averages and once a month weight in my little black book. It really helps me get an overview of how I am doing. 😊

I weigh myself every morning, after peeing. I think it’s ok since I do not freak out when my weight goes up (I admit it’s annoying, but I don’t spend more than seconds thinking about it)

I check every morning so I can manage my food and exercise. I don't get upset with small movements up or down I adjust daily.

I'm with Clarissamach. I try to poop too :) No eating until after weighing!

In the beginning I weighed every morning but now it’s twice a week just to keep track.

I weigh every day - in the beginning no movement bothered me, but not to the point anyone noticed... You'll find what works for you and that's what you should stick with - it's a personal journey. Good luck with your goals!

I weigh myself first thing in the morning after using the bathroom and before eating, but I only weigh once a week. I have an old scale and I don’t think I would be able to notice any change daily.

The real changes can be seen better once a week than everyday weight c:

Every morning I weigh myself to remind myself to focus on staying healthy and make good food choices throughout the rest of the day ,, it's a mental thing.

I weigh each morning as a way to keep myself honest. I use the scale as a tool to add to the data of what I ate. Don't use it as a moral judgement. Like I was 'bad' so now I gained or I was 'good' so now I lost. It is just a cause and effect and nothing to do with you being a good or bad person.
