I am just looking for a little advice here. I've been weighing are at least trying to weigh myself every day since I've started, so I guess what it comes down to me asking is am I being a little abusive with the scale and if so what are your thoughts on how often to weigh yourself?

I weigh myself twice a week, but depending on what I’ve eaten the day before/water intake it always fluctuates 4-5 pounds. Measurements have been a more helpful tool in tracking my progress.

Everyday will teach you about how body weight( especially female) fluctuates. Once a month is great, but I can’t seem to do that. Once a week is good. Some feel everyday keeps them accountable, but for example I know I can overeat/drink today and it won’t show up tomorrow ...especially if I drink alcohol. But the NEXT day I get my consequences on the scale. Then it will fluctuate for a few days then stabilize. Maybe up maybe down. Which day is my actual weight? To me weight is sort of fluid. We weigh one number in the morning a different one at night. Pick a time of day and day of the week and know that’s close enough. And measure with a tape. That shows real progress.

I weigh myself daily but usually only log once a week. My weight can fluctuate several pounds from day to day and for many reasons, so the weekly log seems to be the best way to keep track and not get discouraged.
