Journal de Eringiffin, 29 août 12

My husband comes home today. Back to freezing my buns off, hehe. It's back to being hotter than blazes here, too. I'll be so glad when things start to cool off around here. Maybe next year I'll even look decent enough to be seen in public in a bathing suit. It's just wrong to live in Phoenix and not go swimming in the summer.

So today I am thankful for finding something to wear today that semi-fits me. I have to go shopping again for clothes but this is getting expensive! I am thankful that the reason I have nothing to wear is because all my clothes are too big and not because they are all to small. :)

I am thankful to have my husband back, safe and sound.

I am thankful that today I continued to lose weight. If I keep everything under control over the weekend, I could make some real progress.

Congrats on the problem of clothes too big! Definitely a fun problem to have. I plan on relying on a smaller, lower quality interim wardrobe along the way. And I have found some clothes, like my cargo pants, have been able to transition sizes better than some other clothes. Have fun, and enjoy the new numbers!

@yduj57, agree with you on the wardrobe scene. I have to make sure that the slacks I buy have belt loops so I can make them last a bit longer. The problem I am having now is that even my tops are too big. I need to replace all of my tank tops and cami's. I am going to scope out Wally World before shopping at Lane Bryant for that, though.

Erin I think we need to commit a more controlled weekend to each other, to help us stick with it - what do you say? I also found the replacement of clothes to smaller sizes very expensive....until I discovered the joy of clothes shopping on eBay and in charity shops (I think thrift shops in the US) - I really don't mind having second hand clothing until I get to my goal weight. Although considering the savings you make, I'll probably continue buying my clothes this way, but when I do reach my goal I may just treat myself to a few expensive suits for work and I will actually go and try on jeans in a skinny bitch shop and buy them with pride :)

@triaby, I went to all the thrift shops in my area and none of them have clothes in my size, yet. The top size is 16, not sure what that equates to in the UK, but I need to go down 2 more sizes for that. On top of that, the ones closest to me only accept/carry designer labels. Even at thrift store prices, I refuse to pay $500 for a sun dress and $1000 for a pair of pumps, lol. I think I will check out Ebay, though. That has potential. I am so with you on the skinny bitch jeans run!

That sounds like my kind of weekend Erin!! OK so I am going to make every effort to stick to a more sensible eating plan on the weekend - I just seem to have got into the habit of just eating way beyond my planned RDI and not being able to stop on weekends - so NO MORE - I'll be checking on you and feel free to kick my butt at any signs of weakness :)

OMG that is not thrift store prices!!! I don't like paying more than £5 for a dress!!! I think eBay might just be your saving grace - I am a walking advert for eBay. My goal jeans are a UK 12 and the label says that is a USA 8 - so your 16 is probably a UK 18/20. When I first started dieting I was a UK 26 - now I'm a 14 - so I've been through a lot of clothes!!

The up-side to all of this is that I can buy more "trendy" clothes because I know I won't be hanging on to them long enough for them to go out of style, lol.

Love the clothes comment!! I just broke down and got new jeans. Until you get to where you want to me you should try K-Mart, really yes K-Mart. Good pants, not to expensive!! Great Job Erin!!!

I finally fit into the larger Walmart sizes so I just get some cheap clothes from there, so glad that I don't have to buy those over priced clothes from a speciality shop. Have to buy a new winter coat though, my old one was getting to big last winter and now its huge. But I agree I would rather have the problem of clothes getting to big rather than too small.

^^ I just wanted to comment about the clothes. My hubby was so excited to try on shirts at Walmart and they actually fit, well almost fit. The shirts are still a little too snug for him but after a few more pounds he'll be comfortable enough to wear them. He has been able to get shorts from there though... No more $30-$40 a pair for shirts and shorts at the Big & Tall store for him :)
