I thought I'd add my inches lost to my journals to go along with my weight... when I look at how many inches I've lost, it's just... insane... I have a lot left to lose, mostly in my arms and abdomen. That's what happens when you spent 25 years bouncing from major lows to major highs and having three children (and three c-sections) while morbidly obese.
I used to say for most women it was a moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips, but with me it was a little bit of jelly goes straight to my belly. It's my biggest area I want to go away... it's getting there. I don't visually see it unless I take pictures, but the measurements definitely are where the change has occurred... for sure. That's how I really see my progress.
To give you a quick number, I've lost more than 193 inches of my body in 11 months... I say more because these are just common measurements, not every part of my body.
Before RNY 1/30/18 Measurements:
Neck: 16"
Chest: 57"
Under-bust: 49"
Waist: 74"
*Fullest part of stomach: 78"
Hips: 71"
Left Bicep: 27"
Right Bicep: 28"
Left Thigh: 37"
Right Thigh: 38"
Left Calf: 27"
Right Calf: 25"
*I also like to add in the fullest part of my belly which is just above my belly button... that is the area filled with scar tissue from my c-sections (I had classic c-sections). It is not my waist but bigger than my waist
11 months AFTER RNY 12/30/18 Measurements:
Neck: 14" (-2")
Chest: 44" {-13")
Underbust: 38" (-11")
Waist: 43" (-31")
*Fullest part of stomach: 48" (-30")
Hips: 40" (-31")
Left Bicep: 14" (-13")
Right Bicep: 16" (-14")
Left Thigh: 22" (-15")
Right Thigh: 24" (-14")
Left Calf: 17" (-10")
Right Calf: 16" (-9")
Inches lost (from these measurements alone) = 193 inches!
It just boggles my mind that I used to take up that much more space as a whole... you don't realize how much your weight loss equates until you really look at how many inches you've lost off your body. I still have quite a bit more to lose too, so I'm really excited to see where I wind up.
I've probably lost a couple more since I took these a few weeks ago, but not much.
