Sorry I've been away for a few days, things have been busy with packing and finishing different errands before leaving!

Exercise, exercise...I haven't gotten any in the past couple days, yikes!

I've been eating pretty well...except the fried chicken (didn't eat the skin), fried okra, sweet potato fries I had last night. But I've kept track of my points and yesterday is the only day I was over. I'm going to do so awesome when I'm in Kansas because I really prefer eating well and it's easier by yourself instead of having to "eat out" with your significant other. But I'm also super determined to get it off and get in shape!

I had lost some weight a couple days ago, but was up again this morning. Blah! That's what happens when you can't exercise.

What else...hm...I'm having to get everything packed today so I can go to Charleston tomorrow. I'm saying "goodbye" to my family and my mom and I are going to a Keith Urban concert.

Not much else to say. I will have internet access while I'm traveling and once I get there, so I'll be able to keep in touch.

Also, I can't stand the way FS has updated the "home" page. Has anyone figured out the posts? I know how to view them, but is there an area that has them like it was before, where it automatically will take you to the last page?

I've tried to read everyone's journals, but haven't been able to keep up with commenting. But I'm thinking about y'all!

Oh and I forgot to add before, but I went to the woman doctor yesterday for my annual and my iron levels are really low. Apparently it should be 12 and mine were 8.6, so she gave me some iron pills until I can get my prescription filled. I thought a few months ago I may have anemia, and again looked up the symptoms...I have headaches frequently, brittle nails and cold hands and feet. I don't understand why I have low iron because I eat all these things that HAVE iron a lot.

* Seafood
* Nuts
* Beans, especially lima beans
* Green leafy vegetables, such as spinach and broccoli
* Whole grains

The weird thing is she never said how much I should take per day/week or anything. Does anyone else take iron pills?

Just think - you could do something like a Biggest Loser transformation while you are away in Kansas and shock Greg and your family and friends when you see them again! I don't access the posts from the homepage (I use Myfatsecret page for pretty much everything) so I don't know what has changed, really. But I do know that if you contact fatsecret and tell them your concerns that your words will not fall on deaf ears. They appreciate the feedback and do their best to remedy problems when they can. I have been wondering if I have low iron myself lately as I have had very heavy periods for a few years now and that is potentially a problem with iron stores. Cream of Wheat and dried fruit like raisins and apricots are also good sources of iron. Heme iron is only found in meat, chicken and fish and is the most easily absorbed. All other sources are considered non-heme and their absorption is easily hindered by calcium, coffee or tea, and fibre intake. Vitamin C will increase your iron absorption. Anyway, I've not taken iron pills on their own so I can't help you there. But I am sure that when you get the prescription that there will be some instructions with them. And if all else fails, ask the pharmacist - they are more knowledgeable about drugs than the doctors anyway. Hope it helps!

I take iron pills sometimes during TOM. Once, I had a very heavy TOM, and afterward I went to the doctor and he was all alarmed saying my heart was beating way too fast. he was a very bad doctor and no help to me... but then my best friend found on the internet that my increased heart rate might be related to anemia, so I tool iron pills and felt all better. so yay for iron pills! but molasses also has tons of iron, you could put a little in your smoothie or pancakes or gingerbread or something if you don't want to take pills.

hEY!!! I seem to recall you mentioning some of your symptoms not too long ago, (being so sleepy all the time) and I told you about your iron! You know what? you're making me feel like saying "I told you so!" but I won't! LOL BUT...definitely take vita C like Evelyn mentioned. It helps with iron absorption! Hugs friend!

If the iron make you feel a little icky at first, hang in there.. it gets batter! And actually, I didn't have any trouble, so it might be okay:-)

I was anemic after I had my son and they had me take it once a day. You should also take it with vit C to help absorb better.
