One day at a time, one pound at a time. I am now at the weight that I was in July when I went completely off plan due to some health issues (not diet related).
The FMiL and I talked yesterday and I think that she actually heard me when I said, "I'm gluten intolerant. This isn't a fad diet, I'm not overly restricting myself, and I am eating a ton of vegetables. This isn't just about weight loss, this is about not having joint pain and heart burn and bloating and all of the rest of the stuff that comes along with being gluten intolerant." We'll see. We're going to her house for Christmas Eve and Christmas. I'm probably going to bring my own food. Which may or may not piss her off or hurt her feelings but, you know? I can't really find it in me to care right now.
I have to do what's right for me and I have to put my own health first. I'm tired of gaining and losing the same 20 lbs over and over again. Honestly, if I hadn't slipped and gone off plan so many times I'd be really, really close to my goal weight right now. That's a sobering thought but - this is a lifestyle change. I am a work in progress and the progress is good.
