My son's birthday is on Monday, he will be 3. We are having the party on Sunday, my mother inlaw knew this, but couldn't have been bothered to book the day off of work. So my husband's mother and his brother cannot be there due to work. My husband is upset and rightfully so.. so upset that our son is of such little importance to his mother. That woman is something else.
But all my thoughts are on the cake! Well not all... there is a fair amount of planning I am still doing, not to mention shopping and preparing food. It will a bbq style party with hamburgers, *I can have w. out the bun, wrapped in lettuce and stuffed w. cheese.. yum!* hotdogs, chicken, potatoe salad, veggie tray, meat n cheese tray, chips n dip and maybe some devilled eggs. So really I will be set for food I can eat, I am definitely trying to make it easier on myself. My only problem is the cake!! I know I will want a piece so bad. His cruel cruel godfather is buying it from my favorite bakery.. But I just refuse to budge. I don't want to cheat, I have just finally gotten back on track and my weight loss has picked up again. One piece of deliciousness is just not worth what could potentially turn into a downward spiral. I lack the ability to do deliciousness like that in moderation. So I will have a batch of chocolate/coffee mousse whipped up and will snack on that while everyone else enjoys the cake. I substitute the coffee with Mint extract and I find it so yummy!! Almost tastes like icecream.
