Steps yesterday: 5781.

Much better day yesterday. Walked to the doctor's office and back (and encountered a very adorable kitten on the way!)

A fair amount of packing and cleaning, and then we went to the flicks in the evening. I made sure I ate before we went so I wouldn't be tempted. Good thing since Des had some nachos with salsa AND a medium popcorn!!

I am getting much better at resisting temptation, though. I am in control now, not the cravings. I have to remember though - the addiction is still there, and if I slip up and start eating more starchy foods again, it will be back in full force. Cold turkey is really the only viable method for me - because addicts have no control, we can't say "Oh I'll just have a small slice of cake" and leave it at that. Once we've had a piece, we want to eat the whole goddamn cake in one sitting!

Good job with the film! I went with friends the other day and one had an absolutely enormous tub of popcorn which smelt really fine. But I had brought cheese slices and stuck with it. Huzzah for resisting temptations!

Sounds like you are doing very well. You Atkins is working when you can just say no to temptation.
