Much better day yesterday. Walked to the doctor's office and back (and encountered a very adorable kitten on the way!)
A fair amount of packing and cleaning, and then we went to the flicks in the evening. I made sure I ate before we went so I wouldn't be tempted. Good thing since Des had some nachos with salsa AND a medium popcorn!!
I am getting much better at resisting temptation, though. I am in control now, not the cravings. I have to remember though - the addiction is still there, and if I slip up and start eating more starchy foods again, it will be back in full force. Cold turkey is really the only viable method for me - because addicts have no control, we can't say "Oh I'll just have a small slice of cake" and leave it at that. Once we've had a piece, we want to eat the whole goddamn cake in one sitting!
