Interesting. I usually take nothing at all because I’ve got a fucked up digestive system. I don’t like to workout feeling full. Sometimes I take a shake like 30 min after or I just eat. Maybe I should incorporate a quick ab workout every morning, but I’m such a lazy shit.

Did the high carb moderate protein hurt or help the workout today? Very interested to know. I’ve now tried 100-250 kcal high carbs or high protein before working out and haven’t noticed an energy gain or loss. If I work out full then I do feel bad. Same on really hungry, but it’s better than stuffed. The only thing I found that seemed to help is every now and then I add a scoop of protein powder to the creatine and double the bcaa serving. I’m not sure if it’s the protein or double the bcaa or what. I’d guess the sugar in the bcaa. I felt similar last summer when I’d have a coke and 90 cal rice crispy treat before the gym OR a banana strawberry smoothie with whey and a coke.
