Journal de MTucci, 23 sept. 07

I'm struggling so much. I've been doing WW for probably 2 months. I lost almost 6 lbs - then about 3 weeks ago I stopped losing and was steady for the following 2 weeks. Now, I'm up almost 4 lbs (Have no idea why or how) and I can't get the scale to budge. I'm so frustrated and I don't know what to do. I've now been the same weight (the 4+ lbs more) for 2 weeks. Mid way through last week I was down .8lbs - then yesterday for my weigh in I was back up to where I started.

For the past 2 weeks I've worked out consistently and religiously. Pulling 2 hour workouts at the gym - some days going in twice a day. I've burned tons of points, and haven't been eating them all. I just don't understand why I'm not losing weight - why I've gained weight - and why I'm stuck.

On EVERY diet I've ever done, I've never been able to lose more than 5 lbs. This is just showing me again how much of a failure I am when it comes to losing weight.

I just need help..what do I do?!

You need to eat all of your points - especially if you are working out a lot. What you are doing now is messing up your metabolism. Weight Watchers has you at pretty much the are minimum of what a person should be eating before their body goes into starvation mode. It sounds weird, but if you make sure you eat your points, as well as those you are burning off, you should be able to loose weight again. Right now your body is holding on to everything it gets because it thinks it is starving. I had the same thing happen to me when I looked into the program a few years ago- working out and not making up for the burned points. Once I started eating, I started losing again. Good luck! :)

Ditto with what they said in the comment above. The body needs fuel to perform all the exercise that you are doing. Make sure your points are healhty ones (lean protein, fruits, vegetables, yogurt, etc.). Also, if you are increasing exercise, your muscles will retain water in order to heal. Eat all your points and maybe some activity points, and drink lots of water. It might take a few weeks, but you will eventually see the loss on the scale. You will also be able to tell, because your clothes will become looser (which is an awesome indication of weight loss). As long as you keep trying, you are never a failure.
