I'm trying a new diet, along with zigzagging. Has anyone heard of the Seritonin Solution? It has several different diet plans and there's one called Stressed Mommy diet. THAT'S ME!
You have mostly carbohydrates during the day and protein at night, and it is simalar to the way I already like to eat. It is a lower fat diet because fat blocks the seritonin(happy chemicals in the brain) from being realeased. This plan is supposed to help with depression and prevent stress bingeing, and you have planned snacks. Worth a try! I need to do something. Right now I'm just hanging in the balance of regaining and losing the same 5 pounds and I am sick of losing control. My chart looks worse than it ever has before.
Peanut butter is not on the menu..darn it!
Here's the plan:
Breakfast exchanges: 1 protein(8 grams), 2 starch(30 grams) 1 fruit(15 grams) total calories approx 290
Lunch 1 protein (8 grams) 2 starch(30 grams) 1 vegetable(5 grams) total calories approx 255
Mid afternoon snack 40 grams carbohydrate, low fat foods, approx 200 calories
Mini evening meal 1 protien(8 grams) 1 starch(15 grams) 1 vegetable(5 grams) approx 175 calores
Dinner: 3 protein(24 grams) 1 starch(15 grams) 3 vegetable 15 grams) 2 fat (10 grams)
No diet is a magic bullet, I know that. But trying a new plan might be the motivation I need to focus and get back to losing some weight. I think after a few days of doing well, I will have my confidence back and stop feeling like, there's no use, I might as well give in and munch. I definitely beleivethat a diet has to work for you, and not the other way aroung. I do need some guidelines right now because I have been just eating way too much sugar(and fat) and it makes me a bit crazy. This way, I'm getting the boost I need from carbs, and eating foods I like, but st
ill following a reasonable plan. Like I said, it's worth a shot. Wish me luck. I feel lucky. :)

Good luck on that new diet. I hope it works for you. I believe some people really have a hard time staying away from carbs and if that's what you need, it's worth a try. Sometimes just changing a diet plan for awhile works for some people. Wishing you the best.

I haven't been doing ANY plan for so long, I need to get my body used to eating at regular times, and not just graze whenever the mood stikes, because it strikes OFTEN!! This diet is not much different from the way I normally eat, so it should be a peice of cake. Angelfood cake.

Thanks for the luck, I'll take it! Tommorow is going to be a hard day..it 's the first day I will be babysitting my 3 week old neice, and I am already regretting telling her I'd help out months ago. I'll be filling in regularly 3pm-11 on sat and sunday starting next weekend, buit she needed me tommorow unexpectedly. I'm nervous. I havent taken care of a newborn in so long, and how is this going to fly with a two year old too? This is going to be an adventure..NO STRESS EATING!! I hope this diet helps me to stay calm.

You'll do fine. AND you may be so busy that you forget/don't have time to eat! So it could be a good thing. That's a lot of commitment for you 3-11 on Sat and Sun? wow.

Oh boy.. good luck and remember "mommy time outs"! =D Very critical if they are killing you! lol Of coarse baby will need you, but when I had our 2nd, someone once told me something that helped very much to avoid the sibling jealousy of the little one (I know they aren't sibs, but it may be helpful). It is that if the baby starts to cry, and you are tending to your toddler, yell out "just a minute baby, mommy's helping Kaylan!". This inspires a sense of importance and pride in the toddler, which really helped with our strong willed oldest, that I was fairly concerned about her reaction to the less attention. It worked great!! She got very concerned about baby and soon started hollaring out "just a minute baby, mommy's helping Sydney, we'll be right there!" =D It was precious! The thought is that the baby is small enough that a minute or two of crying will not harm them, where it can really affect the toddler used to all of the attention. :) Get plenty of rest and take care of mommy!! :) Btw,... you'll be fairly busy, so no time for "stress eating" only Healthful energy giving eating!! :)

definitely..I think I should plan what I'm going to eat and have healthy things ready in case I have no time. I am thinking about making Kaelyns lunch ahead of time in the morning as well.

btw I like the suggestion about sharing attention, that will come in handy for sure.

Good luck with the baby!! It won't be easy, trust me I lived it!! lol! My girls are a year and a half apart. I had two babies at the same time :) Hopefully she's a happy baby and your daughter doesn't get too jealous. I'm sure it'll be fine. Just keep busy!! Let me know how the new diet plan is working out!
