I have paid you many compliments. I'm sorry I didn't include you in my list. It was just a quick list...not comprehensive. 😉 you are doing great and look better than you used to. Lol. Is that good enough?

Well, I'm just gonna keep on saying whatever I want to, I've been doing that for too long to quit now.

DP. Girlfriend as much as like being gassed up on compliments and it’s motivating I look at myself sometimes I say “wtf” are they talking about 😂 We’re a society where we teach our kids (well not my kid, you can’t tell my cat Iggie shit because she is a boss cat) they are all winners. Everyone gets a trophy. Well in life not everyone is number one and not everyone gets a trophy. But what do I know. 🤷♀️

I remember people telling me I had no body fat to lose when I was 200 pounds. Now at 182 I still have 10+ to lose. Compliments sure are great and motivating, though!

Shirfleur 😂🤣 there's no going back now. You have to stick with it. You make me laugh on a routine basis.

Sadly I was /do believe what people are telling me and do feel like I look way different...but then I see that it's written to everyone so I start questioning. 🤷🏻♀️ If someone with moobs is getting "nice chest" comments from someone who's telling me I look great -LMAO...I need to make sure to take it with a grain of salt. That's all I'm saying. 😂 And besides...I guess I recognize when people are over the top. Or maybe I don't. 😬

Everyone's perceptions are different. A woman weighing 185 pounds might look awesome and healthy to me, but gross and unhealthy to you. I mean everything I post on here. If I tell you you look great, but you still have 100 pounds to lose, I'm not saying "ok, stop everything, you're at your perfect weight!", but instead saying "yeah, we all know you have a ways to go, but you're looking so much healthier and happier - you look great!"

Yeah- I was thinking that too-LP. I was saying last week I am proud to be in a size 12 but realized there are women on here who would die if they woke in that size... and others who would be thrilled. So what you are saying makes sense. Guess it partially depends on where each person is on his/her journey!

From my own perspective, I have listened to the negative voice in my own head for so long that I try to always encourge others along their journeys to better health. I figure it is better to be kind than not. That said, I do understand from where you are coming with your post today.

True, kclab. And I think some people need to hear it more than others, too.

@DP, some people on here, myself included at times, have a form of body dysmorphia. When I was younger, I saw myself as "fat" at 110, 120, 130, etc. No matter how skinny or fit I was. I don't give false compliments, so if I say something, it's because I see something. Change may not always be dramatic, but I try to encourage when I see positive changes. I may weigh more than I did in 2000, but I'm wearing those jeans this morning and I can even breathe when I sit down.

I don't want insincere comments, but I enjoy positive reinforcement that people can see that I'm moving toward my goals. I don't make a comment unless I mean it. I like to acknowledge accomplishments.

My take on this . . . FS comments are like the different mirrors in my life. Some reflect a slim-fit-wow-you-look-great Becc@, while others reflect a dang-girl-you-need-to-get-your-ass-in-gear-and-get-to-work Becc@

I think comments are often based on seeing how far a person has come. They have perhaps had a real change worthy of praise. That said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think my grandma was beautiful... Wrinkly and I little fluffy around the waist. There are grandmas here who are totally beautiful to me... So much wisdom and strength from living life and making the choices to work toward health. But, reality is, Princess, you are beautiful. You really are with your snappy dark eyes, lovely smile, and strong body. Perhaps some people are insincere or simply sincerely want to make someone feel good. You never need concern yourself with if someone is sincerely sending a compliment... Well that is my opinion anyway. I know you are sincerly not asking for praise... Quite the opposite. Here is to being a little stronger, fitter, better... for all of us.

Thanks, guys! Yes- I didn't mean for my post to make people feel the need to compliment me. LOL! I will accept them all and run with it. 💕Why not? Who cares if people are full of bologna and I get a big head and think I am fabulous and turn snobby and start posting selfies everywhere? 😉Happy Friday! Longest week ever- am I right?

There is definitely a balance between feeling good about what you’ve accomplished and pushing to the goal. The comments typically celebrate the past and rarely push us to our goals.
