My holiday favorite! Poppyseed, walnut, apricot... oh my! Yours looks fabulously delish! I’m finding myself admiring it a bit too long. 😂 I cannot find them here in the south, I order from a bakery in Ohio on occasion. enjoy!

Thank you❣️ Grandmas are the best❣️ I made it using this recipe for the dough https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/220763/old-world-poppy-seed-roll/ and Solo brand canned poppyseed filling. Grinding up poppyseed by hand seemed too labor intensive. If I am to make it again, I would be more careful to make sure the layer is even so it won’t burst.
I gave some away to my coach, he said it was good. It’s hard to find poppyseed rolls anywhere, it’s mostly a holiday bread. Not sure why, it’s so yummy it should be a once a month bread.

Beautiful! I don't understand 'my nut roll cracked' but this still looks delicious.

The filling bursted through the side. The dough was too thin there. Next time I’ll have to make sure the dough is even.

Ahh, okay. I think I'd be tempted to toast this with melted butter. Yep, I can make anything fattening, just watch me.

Still looks good. Was your oven temp. a little high? That can cause the filling to ooze out. When was the last time you calibrated your oven? Yes, this is an interrogation. I will stop.....

There’s a Hong Kong saying “加油“ translated literally means “add oil” which is said to support. Not to be confused with “加牛油” add “cow oil” (butter). 😂😂😂

Erq, I’ve never calibrated it 😱😱😱 I also used a silicon mat instead of a baking tray so the heat wasn’t evenly distributed. Time to go shopping 🛒

Shopping is always good. Yep, even heat is important! Calibration is good if you do a lot of baking and follow the recipe exactly. Most don't bother, but when you're married to a guy who spent 35 years in the restaurant business, you do stuff like that.

Elijah's may have poppyseed rolls in their bakery section. They moved to Miramar Road.
