The saga of the unmoving scale continues this morning, but i did measurements yesterday and lost an inch from my bust and my hips! My hips and thighs are the areas id love to shrink the most so i couldnt care less about the scale this morning, to be honest! This is a positive aspect of going up north where there will be no scale. Less discouragement. My boobs are getting smaller, but not in a bad way. Ive been a B in my regular weighted days, but when i gain weight i have to wear bigger bras. I think theyre losing the extra fat that made them look, to me, weird. I am almost out of pants to move down in sizes to, when i come back to the city september 15th, i think a shopping trip is in order. :) hope everyone is feeling as motivated as i am this morning! :)

edit: Also, I forgot to mention that I tried out that pocket yoga program for my iPad that k8yk mentioned on her journal, it was really great! I did a beginner desert program . HAving never done yoga, I was frustrated that I couldn't do the downward facing dog pose with my feet flat, but I googled it after and read that it was common when your hamstrings aren't loosened up, which apparently happens if you do enouhg yoga! So, I'm a convert. The deep breathing was unbelievably relaxing too, I can't wait to do it again!

I absolutely love and advocate doing yoga. The intense stretching and deep breathing relaxes me, and also really helped me lose some of the pounds. I'm not sure what this "up north" talk is about (maybe I haven't been reading long enough), but find a good yoga studio near you that does hot yoga or Bikram. I found that helped me a lot and loosen my muscles, making the poses easier. Congratulations on dropping a pants size and some inches!

I want to try yoga, but there are few poses I've actually been able to do. I feel like I'm still too big to do it. Congrats! I think yoga will be a huge benefit to you. I definitely need the relaxation part of it in my life, so hopefully I'll be able to do it at some point. And I 2nd that you should have a shopping trip! You've worked hard & you deserve to get some items that show off your great progress & hard work. = )

Oh awesome! I'm glad you liked the ipad app :) I like the Desert one best also. I don't really like the classes at my gym because it's too noisy to really relax with the booming music and pounding treadmills outside the glass door to the studio. And I've looked into yoga studios but they are quite pricey and I can't really justify it in addition to the gym membership. This app is a great compromise. Next time, I'm doing it in the dark by candle light :) So glad you liked it.

allicat, I work for a mining company, and the minesite is remote. I go up there 21 days, then i'm back in the city for 21 days. It's a camp, so there isn't much there but a mine and some hotel-type rooms for sleeping. I'll be bringing my laptop and ipad up though, so I can do exercise videos and yoga while I'm up there, and jogging after work as well. It will be interesting to see how my progress is affected, but last summer when I was there, I lost 40 pounds in 4 months without even trying, so I think it will be a positive experience. There is a yoga studio 2 blocks from my house, so when I get back in September, I'll have done enough to be comfortable trying it in front of others, so I'll seek out a class then. Thanks! :)

I was probably in the 170s when I started yoga, and on a 5'2"-5'3" frame, that's a lot of weight (especially how I carried it). Yoga studios, can be a bit pricey, I pay $18 a session when I drop in. An unlimited package is way too much for my wallet. And you should never feel embarrassed to do it with others, you will never been perfect at it, there is no such thing as perfection in yoga. It's not like a sport where you can be good or bad. It's your body responding to the poses. That is what it the best thing about it, in my opinion. :)
