Does anyone know why this might be happening...?
I have been on keto the last week and a half or so... lost roughly 10 lbs that time frame. yesterday morning my weight was at 252.2 lbs. Today I have only eaten like 500 something calories so far and have drank a good amount of water but I have gone up to 254.1 in a little over 24 hours... HOW?!? Is this normal? I was up a little this morning also. By like 1 lb and since then I have gained another. I am sad about this!!!!!

weigh yourself at the same time of day and not more than once a day- you fluctuate constantly. To get an accurate picture of your weight trend - same time (I do morning) every other day... or wait longer to see bigger drops- your call

You'll weigh heavier in the afternoon after you had something. You're body is also trying to adjust. Keep on going on. 🤗

Thanks for the confidence boosters guys. This is why I love this app!! I appreciate y’all support much more than you will ever know. I am not going to give up!! Not this time!! If I decide to indulge in one meal (learned to say that on here by the way rather than cheat) I am not going to allow myself to continue to indulge for the rest of the day because it turns into the rest of the week, month, etc... I am ready to change my life for the better!!

You did not lose 10 pounds of fat, you lost stored glycogen/water weight for the most part. Daily weight fluctuations are natural and can be from differences in sodium from day to day, slightly more or less carbs which hold 4g of water per gram, lack or more bowel movements, and more or less water intake. Go by weekly progress, you won't always have movement in the "right" direction daily. This is a looooong process and you need to be patient.

I was gonna say what Diablo said. Thx D! Anyway, if you look at my weight log, you will see I go up a d down by about 2-3 lbs at times. It's water, sodium retention, no bm, (tmi) to many carbs one day... That's why I strive only to weigh myself once a week..sometimes you(me) can get scale obsessed. You will see change!💜💜💜

I really like what silkian advised for me. Take a 3 day weigh in and divide by 3.... give or take. I have also considered a weekly weigh in. If you’re moving your body and logging if you need to( I do need to log) then you will have results be it NSV’s or scale, but this doesn’t consider medications like steroids or a particular time to log weight.

Everyone has a certain time of day when they are at their lowest. Find that time of day and stick to it. You may want to weigh less often. Say, once a week. And ditto everything Diablo said. Good luck!

Agreed, daily fluctuations of 4 or 5 lbs is pretty normal, depending on conditions, initial loss is usually water. Long term and steady loss is fat. Keep your eye on the long term prize and not to worry about daily fluctuations, focus on the plan, not the scale.
