out working in the yard today definatly got an upper body work out lol cutting and prunning the trees with a bow saw! will try to get a walk in later. it is so nice out to day and all the animals are prepping for winter i guess, saw a baby woodpecker lol and a daddy in the trees and as much as the squirles love the acorns i am sick of cleaning them up! but it brings a lot of nature into the yard and makes it very pleasant on the back deck. i was thinkin of yesterday and ways of tryin to avoid that happening again i had atkins bars in the cabinet and cheese chips that i could have thrown in my purse and pepperoni sticks if i had taken any of those things i would have been good to go so if i can remember to throw my cigs in my purse i am going to have to remember to safe keep my eating habits as well! hope every one is enjoying the warm weather and has a great weekend!

I am loving this weather too. We don'thave acorns, but we have this stupid tree - I think it's called a black walnut. It makes these nuts that are in this green ball about the size of a tennis ball, maybe a little smaller. They are starting to fall off the tree this time of year and then over the winter the green part turns black and falls off or you have to beat it off and there is a walnut inside. I hate that tree. It is dropping the green balls everywhere! Sounds like you got a workout with those tree limbs. Want to come do mine next?

Laura, that is a workout. I have been working in the yard also. Amanda, that is a black walnut tree, and it you want ot make some extra mony, pick them up, crack them, and sell them. They sell for about 10-15 dollars a pound for the meats. If you decide that you don't want the tree ( I hope not, they are very slow growing and if you have a big one it is probably between 50 and 100 years old), the wood is highly sought after and sells for a pretty penny. But I really hope that you decide to keep the tree and pick up the nuts. And the shells on the outside can be smashed used for dark wood stain. Hence the color Walnut!
