HOLIDAY SURVIVAL CHALLENGE - Week 2 Continued...

It is so frustrating. I haven't been sticking real well to Atkins the last couple days, but I really have not been eating a lot. And the weight just seems to STICK to me!

Last night I ended up having to babysit for my two nieces. My BIL got called into work and my sister had to work so I said I would do it. My sister didn't have a lot of food in the house so she ordered pizza. I had what amounted to about 1 and 1/2 slices of pizza. But all I had ate yesterday was some egg salad, a handful of broccoli pieces with some dip, a slice of cheese and two small pieces of dark chocolate. That is it!!! That doesn't seem like much food at all. If I were counting calories, I would think that would be WAY below what I should need to lose some weight!!! I eat like a bird and still the weight stays on. At this weight, it should be easier!!! I'd understand if I was closer to my goal...but my God - I have 70 or more pounds to lose!!! And every dam pound is a struggle.

I'm thinking of changing up my diet a little. I don't want to up my carb intake a lot, but I just feel like a change in my diet can't hurt me right now. This is just getting too frustrating. I think I will keep track of calories for a couple days - try to stay under 1800 and see if anything happens.

I think you did OK yesterday. I don't lose weight if I don't eat enough calories as well as too many. Also you might be bloated from the carbs of the pizza. Good luck on your refocus. Don't worry too much right now, just try to do your best. Hang in there. At least you aren't gaining.

I know - I should feel good about not gaining. And to be honest, I am in the middle of TOM. (Hence the chocolate that snuck in!!!) But I used to lose so fast when I set my mind to it. I am going to the doctor today because I think I've had a lot of trouble with high blood pressure - that may be part of it, too. We'll see...

Have your doctor check your thyroid function and maybe other hormones too. That can interfere with weight loss. Talk to him about how slow you are losing.

Definitely get your thyroid checked to make sure that you're not hypothyroid. Not eating enough can also stall your weight loss efforts because your body goes into starvation mode. Let us know what the doc says!

You did good on the pizza... I couldn't have stopped at that, lol. I'm a food-a-holic LOL. Don't worry... I think you will be ok, at least you seem to have portion control down. I know how you feel about being frustrated! I believe frustration is probably what led to the point I'm standing at!! Hang in there! =)
