Journal de davidsprincess, 24 oct. 20

Slowly my diet has turned into a bunch of rules for me to follow and I hate it. I need to get back to basics where I learn to enjoy food and count the calories. Instead I am eating tuna on a 50 calorie wrap almost every day and cottage cheese and egg beaters- I have like 5 things that I am eating repeatedly to try to "be good" and I don't know when that mindset snuck back in or if it really never left. But then I tire of it and next thing I know I am eating peanut butter on graham crackers because 90 calories tuna pouches really suck by day 4. So I went back to my diet calendar. I am so thankful that I have tracked every bite for so long. The last month that I felt I made great progress was probably August 2019- betcha thought I was going to say something in 2020 but it has been awhile. And so while I am still kicking ass at the gym- my eating sucks. In that month of progress- it was no tuna pouches. It was cotton candy and casseroles and spaghetti and normal shit and I just wrote it down and carried on and lost a lot of weight so fuck the Halo Top- back to the Ben n Jerry's and the calories of normal foods and not crap. My bio is like I am a big,fat hypocrite. Well not anymore. Normally when I eat 3000 or more calories- I fill out my diet calendar with low calorie grossness to see what I need to eat to get back to the right deficit- why did I start doing that? If I ate normal food- i wouldn't be in that cycle of feeling deprived. On a brighter note- I didn't gain anything so for the first time ever I am not starting from square one. Here's to more gains in the gym and losses on my waist. Now what's for breakfast? I'm thinking pancakes and bacon. 💗🤸🏻‍♀️💪🏻

And I think the myth will never go away. There is too much money to be had by keeping people in the dark about how it all really works.

Thank you John and Jheeden and everyone! Yes, Diablo and Chevre...a lot didn't grasp the point of the post and thought I wanted to start eating no carb or low carb. Yesterday I was 183 which was the reason for the post. Today after pancakes and bacon and normal calories and not feeling deprived, I'm down to 180. That's all I'm trying to say. I need to go back to eating food, all food, in a normal portion size while getting as much protein as possible. Just a regular, normal diet. So glad I truly feel back on track! Yes, Kenna- I've learned to stop when satisfied instead of stuffed and that takes practice, too. When you can eat a bit more of it the next day, no reason to try to shovel it in in one sitting. (I do still enjoy overeating to being stuffed sometimes, which I know you think is crazy) 🤪

Diablo, it's funny how most of the businesses and "experts" pushing the idea that carbs/sugar are inherently fattening also tend to suggest, if not outright state, that doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and food manufacturers are all trying to fatten people up and give them metabolic dysfunction because there is a profit to be made. Yet, most of these LCHF/keto leaders are selling books, memberships, supplements, and trying to make a name for themselves. I saw one ridiculous video once where one "doctor" tried to get an Italian woman to say the diet of the average person was in fact low-carb. Please...the average Italian is thin, eats copious amounts of processed carbs and doesn't put butter in their espresso.

Butter coffee has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. Bulletproof coffee. 🤣😂🙄

But it's so filling! In reality, you get so nauseous afterward that it works like an appetite suppressant. And yes, Italians and Japanese are all so thin cause of keto. LOL

Well, there is one cardiologist from the UK who really tried to make the argument that Italian villagers eat low-carb and sell it as the "Pioppi Diet" which includes avocados and coconut oil. I'm surprised he didn't suggest bulletproof coffees ladden with MCT oil, butter and cream, since that's what they've been doing in southern Italy apparently. Shameless.

Bullet proof coffee is delicious if made the right way. I tried it during my keto days some years back but my stomach didn’t like it and my hair fell out, from keto not the coffee. I hope 🤣

bullet proof coffee cracks me up. it's coffee with heavy cream and salt unless you add the MCT - both of those things make coffee taste good. not saying it's not delicious, just saying I'm way ahead of the times on that one and I prefer a "younger" butter in mine. as in cream, or even whipped cream. I probably use a lot less, too.

Huh- that's interesting. I will still avoid it. I finished my pumpkin spice creamer and I will wait until November to get the peppermint mocha. :) I LOVE this time of year! Puts me in the best mood... with or without butter coffee.

I love cream in coffee though I prefer milk. But even at the height of my keto zealotry, I could never stand MCT oil or melted butter in coffee. Sorry if I seem like I hate very low carb diets. I don't. I just hate misinformation, half-truths, and fear mongering about foods that are abundant, cheap, and sustain many healthy populations.

Wow! Isn't LaughingChevre right on, guys?! Super message and clear headed comments! I am both sibling and daughter of Atkins and Keto lovers... all whom are diet weary and massively fat, sadly. They all had their moments of quick weight loss, but eating the way they chose was not sustained and the weight poured back on. I am so very grateful for the messages I got here early on this journey from Diablo, Princess, Chris and others that calories matter! Everyone has their own path they decide they want to follow, but sustainable weight loss and a lifetime of maintaining is my goal! There are a few folks here who absolutely are delightfully doing so well on LCHF and they are amazing and I respect them. It wouldn't be sustainable for me, but each to their own! This is too long and just an echo of everyone else's message... I'm just feeling like saying my bit. 😊 Princess, such a good thread!!!! ❤️👣
