Hi, It is Superbowl Sunday. I don't care who wins, and I probably won't watch. I have been to Denver and Seattle, just passing through both cities. Anyway, it is actually above freezing today. The days are slowly getting longer. In two months it will be much warmer. I can't wait. I hate winter, and this winter in the Northeast has been brutal with the cold. The weather just simply, sucks. I am sick of it, this winter I was going to buy a house or condo. The money did not come through, and for a reason as now I don't want to live in this area any longer. I would have lots of furniture to sell if I move, but it may just have to be... I am thinking of moving down south in December. I am thinking maybe Florida. I will look online and see how rents are in southern Florida. The dieting is going OK, I have a bone spur in my foot and so I am going to physical therapy this week, it might help get me walking. I might need ankle braces. The podiatrist said I don't have varicose veins, but my ankles hurt, and so I hope I can get walking again once the spring weather arrives for good.

Don't blame you for wanting to move to Florida.

I moved to Florida and it's been wonderful here. You will not regret it. The temperature today (February 3, 2014) is 73 degrees with lots of sunshine!

Yes, It is either Florida, Texas, Hawaii or New Mexico. I can't shovel snow due to a bad back. Darlene - it is a lot colder in Massachusetts than Maryland. This winter has been the worst in ages with the brutal cold. My dieting is going OK but I just am not getting enough exercise when it is so cold out.

I found out that the place I rent from now owns property in Florida and the rent is cheaper than here and the place is much bigger too. And so I will go down there this summer to look, and move maybe in November to January. I have a lease here now. We are getting heavy, heavy snow today... everything is closed. The roads are a mess. I am sick of winter. No way to go out and walk in this mess.

I don't blame you, I hate snow and cold weather also. I'm a Florida native, in the central area around Orlando. The one thing you need to know is that Florida is a right-to-work state, so wages are lower here than in the NE. No state tax though. The summers can be brutal, but if you have AC, it's no problem. I wouldn't live anywhere else myself!

MsMightyPup - I am retired by the military so I can afford to move down there. I would not be living in a mansion or anything, but I will just work full time trying to get my books published. I am a writer. Three books done and numerous other books started.

I might stay up here until 2017, three years. I will be 55 in 2017 and I could move into a very nice mobile home park for 55-plus people once I turn that age.
