Okay, so this is my first entry on this app after using it for a couple months now. I mainly use it to record my daily calories, not so much any of the other features. I haven't even weighed in in months. Unfortunately, I forgot to record my starting weight before I started counting calories and exercising so I gotta start at my current weight and go from there.

So, currently I work at a nursing home facility for the elderly and employees are allowed to use their gym for the residents. It's tiny gym with only an elliptical, an exercise bike, a treadmill, and some weights. They don't want it to be too intense for the seniors. I have been using the elliptical after I clock out for about a month and a half now. I set it to a Fat Burning Workout setting where it alternates from high and low resistance for an hour plus 5 minute cooldown. On some days I go for a second session so it's 2 hours. I average out about 600 calories burned each session according to the results at the end.

I feel insecure with coworkers watching me so I close the door before I start the elliptical but they can still see through the windows. Sometimes, I feel embarrassed exercising at my job in my work clothes cause I don't want to be seen in workout clothes at work. Sometimes I doubt myself. I ask myself, " Is relying on only an elliptical the best way to lose weight?. Am I not taking this seriously?" I have a beer belly (I don't actually drink beer) that I want to remove asap. I haven't had a single drop of soda for 2 and a half months, only water. I'm sure some of my weight loss is because of no soda but I still have a long way to go. I'm impatient since I've been wanting to lose weight for years and now I'm getting into it. I wonder what I would look like now if I committed to this year's ago.

I tried doing the INSANITY workout but gave up after 3 days cause it was too much for me as someone who just getting into exercising. Maybe one day I'll get back and finish it to the end. I work in the kitchen department at this facility so I'm surrounded by food all day. I actually set my RDI down to 1000 calories even though I'm recommended 2300 so I would encourage me to limit calories. I tried intermittent fasting but I sometimes I eat before the fast ends and after the fast starts. Now I'm just focusing on limiting calories by smaller portions and low calories foods throughout the day. I use to get fast food delivered every week but I blocked those apps on my phone so I can save money and prevent high calorie intake.

I have somewhat bad self control. I'm great with drinks. By instinct I immediately drink water and don't even crave carbonated soft drinks. But it's the food I'm still having trouble with. Sometimes I crave a cookie or a burger and fries or some ice cream and I feel bad once I finish eating it. I know I shouldn't but I can't help it if it see junk food in my vicinity. I feel like the only way to clean my diet is if I have to force myself. If I don't see it, I can't eat it. Once I do see it, I'm gonna be debating with myself all day on whether or not those extra calories are worth it.

I also do a few bicep and triceps curls after I'm done on the elliptical. I want to focus mainly on fat loss but I also want to be able to lift more so for muscles, it's only arms. If anyone is reading this, I have a few questions since I'm still fairly new to healthy eating and exercising:

How can I train my brain to stop craving junk food?

Is an elliptical 1-2 hours a night good or should I do sometime else?

What are good sets and reps for biceps and triceps?

How can I stop feeling bad after breaking a fast or eating junk food, even if it's just a cookie or small snack.

What are some good recipes for low calorie foods?
