Day 8

The cravings are so strong today! If I could I think I would sit around in comfy pants and just eat all day. I like to think of these days as my fat girl fighting back against the weight I'm destined to lose. That girl can complain all she wants. I tossed some chicken at her and told her to hush. I think I sent my body into shock after last week. I got this though. I will survive and I will keep marching on because I got this.

I should probably invest in some supplements since I'm doing low carb but wherever I look everything is either an ad, an endorsement, or the person writing the review got their degree in nutrition from TikTok or YouTube. It's amazing how many influencers lost weight and have decided to make a career out of it. Kudos to them but I'm old and cynical and grouchy. Plus that time of the month started so I have no patience for someone who lost 10 lbs and thinks they know what its like when you want to lose 75 lbs. Biology and science aside, we are not the same people. I see those spandex people on their bikes straight out of covid lockdown. Where did those people come from? Where is their Covid 19 lbs? What did they do order a peloton and race their neighbor through their facing windows? That's not right. Nope nope nope. I perfected my ability to put shove multiple cookies in my mouth at the same time over lockdown. I am not made to take the advice of a bubbly over caffeinated woman with her hair in a pony tail so high it makes my head hurt.

I need the advice of someone who is real who has been through some life and shops at Walmart. Someone who has more patience than me to research things. Someone who took life by the ponytail and said ooooh heck no! It's messy bun day!

Lmao I feel you on that! Thank you for the laugh. Agreed, I’ve got way too many health problems interfering with exercise for all those rainbow farts, best to keep it real ;)

Yeaaaa, I hear you- sometimes it’s hard to be inspired when social media “before” pics look like how you want your “after” pics to be, lol. If you have amazon prime video, I’d recommend watching the 2020 reboot of the biggest loser (American version), and “The Last 10 Pounds.” Both deal with practical tips, and I found them pretty inspiring. If you don’t have prime video, I’d maybe recommend Kyra Pro on YouTube- thick thighs, bubbly personality, and fun workout videos. Also, another tip that’s really helped me lose my first 30 lbs (out of my total goal of 50) is to make some “binge foods” that remind me of my former comfort foods. Kim Hoeltje is a weirdo, but her chickpea/pumpkin/protein powder chocolate chip cookies are meant to be binged on, for less than 200 calories per batch; they taste pretty good, even! Let me know if you want the recipe, her Instagram is a cesspit. Also, banana cut into small rounds with PB on top is also pretty satisfying to hit those craving notes. And LifeCuisine (same parent company as Lean Cuisine) makes a cauliflower crust pizza that’s tasty, and 500 calories for the whole thing; I found it at Meijer, which is pretty similar to Walmart. Welcome to FS! You can do this!!!

10lbs or 100lbs, one thing that doesn't change is the willpower to keep going! That will always be the most critical piece, dedication to your goal. Get after it!

You got this!! Humor is a great stress reliever. Keep reminding yourself of your original reason for starting your weight loss journey.

Motivation does not last— no matter how good your intentions are. It’s building and reinforcing the habit that will carry you through. Portion control, moderation. Healthier foods most of the time and less healthy or less conducive to achieving your goals just once in a while. Deprivation does not work, guilt does not work, starvation will not work. Habit will

Plan ahead and try to stick to it. Realize your weight will go up and down -- losing is not a straight line. Forgive yourself if you waver off your WOE, enjoy the slip-up, and start again the next day, or the same day, if you can. Walmart has lots of Paleo, Keto, low carb food -- just decide to do it one day at a time. Join some of the challenges on Fat Secret. This is from a 79 yr old lady who has managed to take off 20 pounds in one year, currently at a plateau but going at it again tomorrow. Gardening or walking in the heat will do amazing things for your energy and determination, you don't need Peloton!

Your posts are hilarious and I wish you all the best. Keep plugging along & be comsistent. 👍👍If you're desparate, my favorite appetite suppressant is watching my long-haired cat cough of a hairball. The image is good for 72 hrs do every 3rd day works best. Also good if it occurs just before dinner. 🙃🙀

Do not torture yourself. Ha ha ha. 15 years ago I was on Atkins diet (low carb). I had lasted whole 6 days before I realized I was standing in the middle of grocery store with 2 ice creams in my hands. I was eating both of them simultaneously. I still do not know how it happened. My mind simply shut off…. And body protected itself on its own… Since then, I never try low carbs. Simply reduce my intake by 250-500 calories per day. Slow does it.
