Why do I weigh more at the Doctor's than at home? A whole 5 lbs more-serious buzz kill. SU Birthday last night-shared a bottle of wine and a dessert-"red velvet souffle" (to die for). I feel so very guilty and bloated....
I want to fast for a day to get a "fresh start". Food is so important to me-hard to give it up even for a day-sounds trivial but there it is.

I always weigh 5-10 more pounds at the doctor's because: 1. I weigh myself at home, first thing in the morning after I go 2. I'm naked when I weigh in at home By the time of my appointment (late morning, early afternoon) I'm already showing heavier (even on my own scale). Add clothes to that, and any discrepencies in either of your scales, and there you go. It's no big deal, sweetie. I go by my weight at home and the doctor can bite me cause he won't let me get naked to weigh myself. :) Don't kill yourself by fasting - just eat sensibly, whatever that plan is for you. Fasting can start to slow down your metabolism (only a little if it's only one day), but it can cause all kinds of issues like irritability, electrolyte imbalances, shakes, headaches, and water retention.

Scales are calibrated differently, so you can weigh something different on each one. The flooring also can effect the scale. If you move it around the kitchen floor, you will see different amounts.

Red velvet souffle. Mmm. Sounds good even though I can't completely imagine it. The scale in my doctor's office is at least that much higher. And the nurse always seems to just fudge it around where it kind of starts to balance. I want to ask her to nudge it down a little but then I figure it's not worth it. I go by my scale and that's it. It doesn't matter what the real number is, just the relative number. But, yeah, it's still a buzz kill.

You have to ignore that number! It means nothing... every scale is different. AND you will way different at different times of the day. Did you happen to go after eating lunch or brkfast? Actually, it maybe be good news so you know your body isnt stuck on a plataue... MOVE along now! :) I don't agree in fasting either. I like to eat so stick to preparing for your daily allowance
