I'm hungry.

Every night and every morning I'm hungry. It's not cravings, it's real hunger. Mouth is watering...every night.

I'm taking all of my rdi (today's an exception)

Is this normal?

I quit eating at 7pm, thinking the fast will help my stomach shrink, and have breakfast around 10 or 11.

Am I to feel hungry during all of the dieting? I thought this would subside after a week.

Is everyone else hungry too? lol

If you're genuinely hungry, eat. Mindfully eat something. I don't sleep well if I go to bed hungry.

with that eating schedule you are fasting about 15 hours a day. this can tell your body that there is a famine and trigger it to store as much energy as fat as it can. I would suggest that you listen to your body and eat more often. Eating more small meals a day will keep your metabolism working and let your body know that it is ok to let go of its stored energy because there is more available plus you won't be as hungry since you will be eating more. Try allowing yourself to eat till 8 and have breakfast a bit earlier. Your last meal of the day should be light and breakfast should be a moderate size. Hope this helps.

Monique in the evening you could drink a big mug of unsweetened tea like I do if I feel hungry, that helps and in the morning you should eat something right after you wake up and eat more small meals during the day.

protein helps me feel full... can you save a few of your calories for a protein bad at 7pm or something with a little fiber to help that feeling? everyones different. my husband does this at night but if I do it I find I wake up hungrier than if I fast. drinking a big glass of water can help too.. sometimes it can trick you into feeling full.

@Jacques / yes that was the intention, to be fasting 16 hrs a day. Heard it was good for weightloss. Depends which article, book you read I guess. Also, less dishes and coping with food. There is a diet called the 16:7. And it's less work, really. Thank you all for your suggestions, I'll keep this track till the next weigh in, and see how it goes. If this is fruitful! (love fruits) But I often heard that eating small meals all through the day is good for weightloss, as it keeps your bs stable. Funny how hunger is easier to deal with than cravings.

You are not eating enough protein. Look at your diet calendar. Protein will keep you satiated longer than any other food group. It also helps you lose fat better than any other food group. If you don't, than start planning out your meals so you can include more protein and high fiber foods which keep you feeling fuller longer. Fats like avocados and peanut butter have also been shown to aid in weight loss because they help with hunger pains. Plan a couple of snacks in between meals to keep your blood sugar steady. Greek yogurt and fruit, a cheese stick and fruit or veggies, an apple with peanut butter, etc.

also you might add a protein snack just before bed it may be that your blood sugar is dropping to low, the nutritionist recommended a protein and a carb as an evening snack

i was hungry when i started. ravenous. i was so distressed. i'm hungry right this second, but mostly the hunger is gone. i think it took me about a week and a half to get to the point where i wasn't hungry all the time for whatever reason. then someone, maybe you, pointed out that i wasn't getting enough fat. so i upped that. also upped my protein. i had this revelation about eggs. i ate two and wasn't hungry for the first time in a week and a half. so that's my experience. i say if you're hungry, eat. you're not going to be able to sustain being hungry all the time. what did you set your rdi at? mine's at 2000 calories.

I am always wanting to eat. I don't know if I've ever felt true hunger. I have to calorie count or I go off the charts..

I have this problem quite often. It's not a perfect solution, but I've found that if I drink water before, during, and after every meal (and I mean a solid 8 oz if possible), it helps make me feel fuller. I also try to finish eating for teh day by 7 (I go to bed around 9:30), so to really make that final meal last, I drink a water bottle before & during dinner, then refill it and keep drinking it until I go to bed. Do make sure you're getting enough protein, carbs, and fat. If you really have to eat something, a spoon of peanut butter is awesome. Just, you know, not too much. Savor it =)
