Journal de Tulipgirl6, 29 juin 14

I just realized that my kids' camp schedule overlaps my gym schedule; I'm really bummed about this!!!! My husband who is home all day and jobless goes ballistic if he attempts to 'watch' the kids. Basically, if I leave the house, he goes nuts . . . . We had a big confrontation yesterday with him flailing and hollering in my face because I "left the house for 5 hours!" I went to a 1 hour class at the gym and came back, and an hour later took my daughter to a birthday party. He would not stop about it.........

Good Grief Girl!! He needs to take a chill pill. There is a reason I am divorced and loving it. So, I really shouldn't say anything but I do support you!!

thanks kattay; i'm trying to see if I can tolerate him and not be so sensitive, and have absolutely no expectations, but he is just a bully! the list about him is endless . . . . don't even get me started .. . . . I seriously don't know what to do about the gym; my trial is ending and if I can't do the classes, there's no point in paying the membership . . .

Give this a lot of thought , a lot. Read your journal over Then reread it again and think about it. I'm sure he is going through some hard times because he is not working. But............... That's. All I'm going to say.

Yea, our problems preceded his job situation; I wish it was only that . . . . this is just exacerbating it . . . . actually everything under the sun sets him off; he is goofy but just does not have a joy for life or anything, and he kills everyone else's joy also . . . .

Why are you still with him? Have you thought about getting a divorce? It's none of my business, but from your journal entries it seems like you don't even like him, so I'm wondering why you're with him. He sounds like a horrible person to live with. You can do better :)

So sorry! It's amazing how when the stars line up (e.g. camp and gym schedules meshing well), life seems good. Unfortunately, the Universe doesn't always cooperate, does it!

Oh so sorry...I can both sympathize and relate. My kids' dad (my 1st ex)was the same way. Still is, he has little "use" or interest in his grandkids, little relationship with 3amazing daughters. I feel bad for him as he has no joy in his family. I have so much fun with all of them.

Have you tried couples' therapy? I read that that could be beneficial

I suggest you make a list of his redeeming qualities, I am sure he must have some or you wouldn't still be with him! IMO... children are a gift, a joy, and yes....sometimes a pna (pain in the ___), but they are yours. And don't get me started on how wonderful I think grandkids are!! However, both parents need to be a part of their lives and participate. Child care should never be just one parent's responsibility. Been there. It is not fair to the children. And it certainly is not fair to the parent that doesn't get a break. Makes no difference, male or female. Life is to enjoy!! Share the joy and PNAs!

thanks you guys; my buddies here you are my lifeline; i am going though a really tough time right now; i never thought of myself as an emotional eater, but sure enough, I had 2 choc chunk cookies leftover from my kids' party and a bunch of party mix . . . . enough said

Tis ok tulip don't beat yourself up, your dh is doing enough of that emotionally. Sorry have been through two marriages one was physically and emotionally abusive the other emotionally abusive. I tend to go there. I've been controlled by men most of my life since my dad was very controlling as well though not abusive. I'm in my own good space now but still dealing daily with shaking off flashbacks even though it has been 8 years nice I left my 2nd dh.

Take good care, Tulipgirl. You deserve a break and support. If he doesn't realize or provide it, I hope you find peace somehow. I can't tell you how to deal with a marriage, but you seem terribly unhappy with this man. You deserve so much more. Much love & support

Can you find a gym that offers childcare while you work out? Maybe you can talk the husband into also going with you. It may work wonders for his mood.
