Why does the tracker show I've had 880 mg of sodium? Breakfast: 1/2 cantaloupe. Lunch: 1 cup red beans (cooked from dry with no salt), 1/4 cup salsa (according to the label, 300 mg sodium), and romaine lettuce. My sodium was high yesterday too, over 1000 mg, but I couldn't figure out where that was coming from either. Does this app assume everything is preprocessed/salted?

I log at FS through web browser. I do not know how it works through the android application. Clicking on your one cup of red beans at your diary i show that it is 400mg on its own. Each and every food that is already at the FS database has its own nutrition facts. So does for the sodium. Try it your self. The half cantaloupe you ate was 65mg.

Thanks, Tassos! I know that some foods naturally have sodium without adding salt, but that sounds like a lot for no-salt-added beans. I researched dry red beans, and it seems they have no sodium as-is. I guess the app is using canned beans for the nutrient info. The 65 mg for 1/2 cantaloupe seems correct. My blood pressure is starting to creep up, so I never add table salt to anything. I figure I get plenty from processed foods (although I'm trying to cut back there, too).
