Well, the day came and the day went well. I had my FDL Abdominoplasty and my Extended Arm Lift on August 11th. They took off 35 lbs, yes, 35 lbs of skin! That's a lot of skin... I, unfortunately, had a massive pulmonary embolism 17 days post-op, but I am healing well from both the surgeries and my PE. Still hunched a little, especially as night falls and very, very swollen. I can't wait to see what I look like once I'm not swollen and can stand up straight! It feels so good to have finally closed a 27-year long chapter of my life.

Thank you, so much, everyone! @beauxpurdy When you have an abdominal wall muscle repair and in general skin removal on your abdomen, the skin and muscles are pulled so tight that while they heal, you often can’t fully stand upright, even if you try. I can early in the morning but by nightfall, I am hunched and actually have to use a walker sometimes. It’s pretty normal after plastics and not something I think many talk about. Some people don’t experience it as bad but it also really depends on how tightly you have been pulled and sewn back together, which varies from person to person and the surgical technique used.
