Eral, this was the first time I ever tried bulgur. I liked it. Have you eaten bulgur? What I can’t get into is buckwheat. I don’t like it. I bought a box a few months ago and I don’t know what to do with it. Any suggestions?

Sounds yummy. I particularly like buckwheat pancakes, probably you could grind the buckwheat and make them

Cindy, how? In a blender?

Do you have a food processor or coffee grinder? Blender might work depending on its quality

Buckwheat is so good! Your plate looks delicious. I never tried it until hubby and I were dating. It's a staple in the Ukrainians diets. We just boil it and have it with just about anything. He likes it best with canned fish (usually spratz).

bdixon, you are right, it might work with fish! I’ll give it a try. I don’t know why I didn’t like the flavor… I eat Japanese soba noodle and it’s buckwheat and I like it.

Buckwheat crepes are a stable food of Brittany. Traditionally served with hard cider.

Hubby's cooking instructions for buckwheat: (optional: put buckwheat into a preheated pan to pre-toast it) step 1: place water into pot with buckwheat (toasted or untoasted) and add an equal volume of water and a dash of salt. Step 2: bring it to boil and then slow to a simmer until you no longer see water near the surface. Step 3: turn off heat. Stir. And let it sit until any leftover water is absorbed. Step 4: eat. He likes to add a spoon of butter when he's not watching his calories.
Apparently it's very good reheated later in a frying pan.
P.s. this is one of the clearest instructions he's given ever. My grandma's asked him how long to cook pierogi and he said something about letting the pierogi rise three times in the rolling boil like he was some kind of pierogi wizard xD

Eral I was looking at that! It’s savory, isn’t it? Definitely worth trying. I just need to find someone to share hard cider😂 I should find my little black book. Thank you!

Ok bdixon that’s exactly how I cooked last time. Toasted it and added butter and all. I’ll try again. I cooked it when my appetite was very poor, and maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy it. I really, really want to like it. Btw your husband is cute.

Every time I see your posts I'm not sure if I am in a culinary magazine or a museum! Your creativity is awesome. What artistic eye you have, not to mention healthy. Impressive.

Craig😂 have you seen Turkish members’ photos? Their food presentation is out of this world!!! Mine is nothing! But I do enjoy cooking healthy food now that I get to share it with y’all. Loneliness really fostered terrible eating habits.
