Lowering carbs always works. I do a Ketogenic diet so getting off Glucose for Fuel and getting fat adapted has been the best thing. Only 2 choices for fuel Glucose or fat. With Glucose I could never get the weight off and keep it off and Protien is just a slow digesting carb so your body could turn that into Glucose if you go really low carb like I do 5% your brain needs very little carbs.
I do high fat but I make Brussel sprouts once cooked I put them in butter to fry them a bit then melted cheese
