What works for me. I know we are all different but I have had thyroid disease since 19- gained 36kgs in 10 months before diagnosis. I am now 34.
Work really really hard
No sugar no milk- limited cheese
Strictly Gluten free
No cheat days.
Low carb/keto - some people say keto is bad for thyroid but it works for me. They say this because keto can make your thyroid hormone levels decrease in clinical studies but we take hormone in tablets so to me it’s a moot point)
But high protein- protein helps me. I aim for over 100g a day
Take my meds every day ( I take Euthyrox and Tertroxin)
Accept my weight loss is not linear (like this week I picked up a kg even though I stuck to plan 100% and it doesn’t shift away- I just have to work harder)
Weight train and walk 3-4x a week
Not intermittent fast too often (once a week fasting or skipping breakfast)- if I IF it goes well for 3-4 months then I crash)
Not too much caffeine(I have two cups a day)
Not too many fake sugars no artificial sweeteners.
Cold showers now and again
I’ve been doing this for 3 years now. Finally lost weight over that time after being obese for years and years.
