Tried very hard to get things correct today.I realize that I was getting too many net carbs from sweetner and not veggies...Giving up the sugar free "kool-aid" type drink was harder than I thought it would be...

I have an outrageous sweet tooth, so I completely understand. I have found that the longer I stay away from it, the easier it gets...the cravings DO fade away. Keep up all the great work!!!

Yikes.. good luck.. can you have iced tea? I just go bananas if all I can have is water... I make a gallon of iced tea nearly everyday in the summer. I leave it on the counter and then fill a glass with ice and pour the room temp tea over it.. so it is crazy watered down. And always decaf tea.. but anyway.. good luck with giving up the drink mix.

Gigi it is hard at first, but it is doable. I drink tea with no sweetner, and have learned to like it that way. Good luck!

I used to drink nothing that wasn't sweet...water? Never. But when I started my weight loss I knew it was important so I made a deal with myself to allow other beverages as long as I met the daily water intake requirement I had set. Turned out that after drinking all the water I didn't really have room for other stuff & ended up sticking with that. I found that going cold turkey worked best for me when I started doing low carb...staying away from pretty much everything sweet made the sugar cravings pass within a few days. After you've been on it for a while you may be able to incorporate things like MIMs or flaxmeal pancakes to help with the sweet tooth. If you're a coffee drinker, try those sugar free coffee flavoring syrups. They're either low- or no-carb.

Water is so very important! As an X-Diet Coker (LOL - I used to drink more than a 2 liter bottle PER DAY, started first thing when I got up & last thing before I went to bed), I completly understand the difficulty. For me, I did it in little steps...starting first thing in the morning & let me tell you I am making faces in rememberance of just how nasty I thought the water was - at first; I gradually reduced the frequency and amount of the soda. It wasn't easy, I really had to work at it, but I did do it. Now, I have one glass of diet coke w/supper, and maybe 1/2 glass with my last snack & that's it! I found that the more often I drank water & the more of it I drank - (the more I peed - LOL) - the better I felt & still feel. Just never, ever quit trying! Good luck.

Im an x-diet pepsi person...It was all I used to drink until I started losing weight, now I drink diet pepsi once a week (saturdays) and only a small bottle. When I first switched out I started adding things like lemon or cucumber to my water to give it a bit of flavour and now I just love water. It is a transition but little steps help!
