Is it just me, or am I the only one who weighs myself every single day, then get`s discouraged if my weight goes up .4 of a pound. How do you guys keep yourself off the scale. I am the type of person who needs to see changes all the time or I lose hope.

I feel ya! I'm the same way! I keep hopping on the scale to see if I've AT LEAST lost half a pound! lol Last night, I couldn't stop myself from eating the food I prepared for my family....so this morning I KNEW I would weight more. It was only half a pound, but to me, that still sucks. I have NO IDEA how to keep off the scale. When you figure it out, please let me know! lol Don't lose hope though. We're all striving for a goal. Whether it takes us years or weeks, as long as we get there (remembering where we came from), I think we'll be okay. (Though, it would be great if we could reach it much sooner! haha)

No, you're not the only one. I want results and I want them now! Unfortunately...we have to be realistic. But don't be discouraged! There are so many reasons why you would have an increase of that amount (water, bloating). Try to keep busy to keep from thinking about the scale. You can do it!! Best of luck!

haha I do the same thing every morning. I weigh myself. I think it's good to do that. If you lose weight you're happy, if you gain weight then you know you have to work harder to lose it again! It's good for motivation either way.. :)

I actually avoid the scale all together now. I would get so upset if it wasn't moving down that it just created a great deal of anxiety. I am now terrified of the scale & have to force myself on it every week or so. I would be an emotional wreck if I got on it everyday.

Lol litdove7 I feel exactly the same. Thanks for the support guys. And Adrienne I have been where you are. I'd weigh myself several times a day and it would only bring me down. It's best you don't weigh yourself right now, maybe instead measure yourself that way you'll still know all your hard work is paying off.

Megan Its tough to do, but I don't weigh myself but once a week, on the same day and time to try and advoid getting discouraged watching my weight fluctate as much as 3 lbs during the day or from day to day. I'm like you, if I see my weight go up during the day I start thinking, why the heck am I trying so hard? Hang in there.

I know Papalika I'm going to have to do what you do. Because I weighed myself today and went up .4 of a pound and now I have been in a funk all day. It's disappointing when I have worked out hard and followed my diet to the T.

Hi Megan, Your body can fluctuate in weight massively in the space of a day. If I were you, I'd lock the scales away in a cupboard in the garage or something, and only get them out once a week at the same time. I used to do it every Friday at 11 O'Clock and wear EXACTLY the same clothes. A heavy belt buckle can make all the difference :)
