My meal planning consists of looking in the fridge and asking myself, "What's about to go bad?" Tonight it was mushrooms. The tomatoes were also getting past their prime

I learned to cook from my mother, whose operating instructions were, "so it looks right." She made me fearless in the kitchen. I also grew up in a big, working class family, so the thought of food waste gives me the shudders ! 😉

That is exactly what I do. I cook so much that there is almost always a wide variety of leftovers to choose from to throw together something. Some of my best meals have come from cleaning out the fridge and freezer. Bummer is it’s hard to recreate them from fresh.

That just means you are so well versed in meal creation that you essentially can whip up a meal with just about anything. Super!

Looks good, any meat in there?

No meat, bigbtn, although you could always add it. My husband and I eat mostly vegetarian because we enjoy the food so much and actually prefer it. All I did was chop half an onion, cut some mushrooms and campari tomatoes into quarters and cook it all in 2 or 3 tablespoons olive oil with some garlic and basil until it looked sauce-like

I'm gonna make this right after I exercise this morning! Think I'll add the last apple-chicken sausage link that also needs to be used up😋👩🍳

me too! We don't throw away much. We eat 99.9% of our meals at home. It sure saves on money and calories.
