Initial weigh-in was a little high. I did it at the end of the day on the 6th after dinner; I figured this would be an encouraging way to make the first week feel like a real kickstart. A more accurate estimate probably would have been 230. Today I weighed in this morning. 225, which is about what I was expecting. I imagine that next week I will be 221 or so, and I'm hoping to maintain a 3-5 pound/week rate, at least until 200.
As usual, when I'm in the mode to lose weight, I find it relatively easy. Weighing once-weekly instead of daily has been much better for my head. The progress seems too incremental when you're talking fractions of a pound a day. 3-5 pounds each time you look at the scale seems substantive enough to act as a motivating goal. I intend not to step on the scale on any day/time other than Wednesday morning.
