Look after yourself - and do you have a person who can go and get things for you if required. Drink lots of liquid and get lots of rest. Keep posting so we know that you are okay.

Thanks Liv - I read online to stay hydrated so I've been drinking water and even found a bottle of cranberry juice in the refrigerator - I like that better than water. Thanks Jergens, my sister is only a couple blocks away and my next door neighbor will do things for me if I need her. The fever is down now 99.9.

If it's pea protein, could be you don't tolerate pulses, I have the same problem & found Dr Gundry's theory about lectins helped me a lot.

Fevers are the worst when I feel like I'm freezing to death. Such a terrible feeling. It happens to me with step throat and once after complications after having my now 16 year old when I ended up with some infection. Hope you are well soon!!❤️

Gastropod - I thought of all the things you mentioned. My dad had diverticulitis and my sister has it. When he was about 80 my dad told me he had a doctor appointment the following week because he wasn't feeling well and thought it was diverticulitis. He had a fever. I told him to call and get an appointment sooner. He wasn't able to. I went over to his house and then to him to the emergency room. He had an infection in his intestines and needed surgery. It was a long surgery and after it he needed a colostomy bag. It was a horrible ordeal. After the infection cleared up and he had healed they did another surgery where they were able to re attach everything and he didn't need the bag. That's what I was thinking of last night. I've never been diagnosed cith colitis or diverticulitis. I thought the fever had to have been caused by an infection. But I am fine today. No fever, no constipation. I have no idea what happened. I had a fever for maybe 4 or 5 hours. Tylenol is a wonder drug for fevers, at least for me. Marz - It's whey protein and from I've read I should be able to tolerate it well without a gallbladder. Thanks DP, I am fine right now.

Your symptoms are similar to the symptoms I get when I eat gluten. I am gluten intolerant. See your doctor to discuss your symptoms, and I agree with Fritzy 22 your symptoms also sounds like diverticulitis. Only a health care professional can diagnose your symptoms. I hope you feel better soon.
Please see a doctor soon.

I get those stomach pains when
I have eaten the fiber 1 bars. I think it could be the chicory root. Check the ingredients of your protein bars and shakes. Sometimes they add that for a full feeling I think. And look up chicory root or even fiber 1 bars. A lot of people have the same issue with the chicory root.

Thanks sllashley58 - Do you get a fever when you eat gluten? As far as I know I am not gluten intolerant. A few years ago I eliminated gluten from my diet for a few weeks and then added things back in - no difference. Thanks seashell - I had a colonoscopy 2 or 3 years ago and there were no problems at all. Thanks Wifey! The fever is the mystery. Thanks Debra, I checked the bars and shakes and chicory root is not listed as an ingredient. I've had these products in the past with no problem.

Fart Bars, they are. Some have a lot of fiber, some use whey protein, others pea protein. All in all, they cause bloating, gas, IBS. On top of it all, they're massively processed food. If you have any kind of lactose sensitivity or intolerance, the whey plus all the fiber is going to give you painful misery. I tried eating these when I first went vegetarian, and throughout the decades, and they're just not worth the dose of protein. That end, I don't think your fever and the stomach pains are related to each other. But I'm not a doctor, so you might want to check with yours if the fever comes back.

Bananas - There is less than 1 gram of fiber in the shakes and 4 grams in the bars. I only wanted to use these products for a week to kind of jump start my weight loss. Couldn't even make it through 4 days. I just wanted some extra protein in my diet. I really don't understand the fever. It only lasted a few hours. I was going to call my doctor but I think I'll wait. I have no fever and the abdominal pain is gone although there is still some tenderness. I'll wait and see how I am in a day or two.

Personally I don’t think your fever or the pain had anything to do with the bars or shakes. I could be wrong…I don’t know.

Wifey - I think the constipation was because of the bars. Only because it started as soon as I had the first protein bar. I had very little of anything else to eat. But I don't think the constipation could cause a fever. It seems like an infection of some kind would cause a fever and 101-102 is pretty high for me. I'm usually at 97. I am puzzled.

It's from the drop in fiber. Try some psyllium (metamucil) or Miralax.

Your fever has nothing to do with the protein bars.

I’d be constipated too if all I ate was protein bars. That’s not a balanced diet and I’m sure you know that lack of food will also cause constipation because there’s not enough food to move through the system and we need fiber to move anything. And water. Usually people that are not used to protein bars seem to need to eat a lot of food with them so they don’t hurt the stomach if you are sensitive to protein in the bars. If you eat the bars with a normal diet I don’t think you would have a problem.
