Journal de oastorga, 14 nov. 14

I just came across this tool. I've used LoseIt for a long time and quite frankly I've gotten a little burned out with all the tracking and recording. I've stayed away from any tool except occasionally writing what I ate on my iPad or just plain paper.

I'm going to give the tracking method another try. This site seems simple enough. I'll see what the phone versions of this app look like.

The journal entry idea is pretty nice and it's the reason I chose it over others.

So November 14th, 2014 is the start of a new tracking phase.

I exercise quite frequently, I basically have my own gym at home so I rarely skip my training sessions. I walk at work and have setup my workstation so I can stand often.

My issue is of course food. Since I've stopped tracking I don't know how much I'm eating. So back to tracking it is.

I know exactly what your talking about. Finding the time to sit and enter everything gets a bit crazy and boring at times, but if we don't, its very easy to go overboard. I'm not the best at recording. Hang in there.

I can relate as well. I'm pretty spotty about recording what I eat, but trying to do better. I find if I keep track of it, I'm less likely to eat the stuff I'm trying to avoid. I don't bother tracking anything else though. It helps that there's a phone app for FatSecret so I can enter things right on the spot.

@bmainwaring How did you sync up your phone app to the website. I logged in with my google account and the iPad version does not have that feature. Guess I'm going to have to start all over. But it's a test of will I guess :-)

@Oastorga The app version I've got lets you log in, but I didn't log in with Google--maybe that's the problem? I have an account set up on the FatSecret website and logged in the app using that, and everything's worked automatically. (I also have Android, so maybe the apps are different.)

@bmainwaring Figured it out but not till after I had created a second account. Boohoo! In any case I can now use the original account I setup through google with my iPad and for that matter with my Android phone as well. I probably will stick to the journaling, and on non training days post my food intake as it will help in making sure my Fat/Carb/protein ratios are within my body type range.
