Well, so far so good. This time I can see it actually working as the whole family are on board this time. My girls and husband only have a little weight to loose but its nice to plan food for all of us instead of just me. That is so depressing being the only fatty in the house, to sit around watching and preparing all that lovely food. Well this time I am not going to be as harsh on myself. A little of what you fancy does you good. No need to eat like food is going out of fashion, can always have another piece of cake next week instead of finishing it off in 1 sitting. I am trying to stick to around 1500 calories for myself and my kids (16 & 20) up to 2000 but I am not sure what my husband should be on. The internet is an amazing tool but often a little contradictary.
I am also a lazy bum, usually if I can get out of doing something I will but this time I mean business. I am forcing myself to get at least 1 hour of exercise be it scrubbing the kitchen (even if it doesn't need it) and getting myself out for a walk daily. Today I think I will skip a walk as we have all been doing the gardening. Back and front was in a terrible state and with it being the 1st day it hasn't rained much, we got stuck in.

I have been putting together menus for dinners that are 600 calories, and then I cut back or cut out my portion of the bread/starch. My girls are 16 and 18, and hubby is over 200 pounds and needs to be below. My thought process is that if I have healthy snacks and lunch and breakfast foods, then they can make their own lunch and breakfast so all I have to do is plan dinners. I have found that Woman's Day magazine month of menus also provides a weekly shopping list for their month of menus. What a great tool! I use their monthly plan to have healthy, low-fat but not fat-free meals that have a variety of protein sources. there are lots of sites that will do menu planning for you, and here is one: http://www.womansday.com/Articles/Food/Month-of-Menus!.html and you will have to cut and paste it to get there. We actually have been using March 2009 over a couple of times! Best wishes to you!
