Yesterday turned out to be a tough day for the diet. A shopping trip ran very long, and I ended up having to eat lunch at a restaurant whose nutritional info I hadn't had a chance to review. I had a grilled pork chop, brocolli, a salad with lite dressing, and a dinner roll. Not too bad, I suppose, but suspect the pork chop was grilled in some sort of butter sauce, because it had a very buttery taste. Today's weigh in, however, wasn't too bad. Down .2 lbs from the past two days, to 228.6. The bad thing is that it is .2 lbs over my "official" weigh in on Monday. Of course, last week was very similar and I ended up dropping three lbs rather quickly. Just keep it on course.

Trying to come up with a new dinner plan for tonight. Think I might make tacos with ground turkey and black beans, then load them with veggies and salsa. Need to go to market and find a healthy tortilla...perhaps a whole grain variety.

Corn tortillas, if you like them, aren't bad!! I almost also opt for corn over flour tortillas. They do make some tasty whole grain flour and low carb tortillas too. Sounds like you did very well at lunch. Real life happens and a part of the journey is making choices when things are not optimal. Good work!! Great attitude too about your progress ... you'll get there!!

I found a fajita sized whole grain low carb tortilla (I'm not as concerned with the carbs myself, but my husband tries to keep his carbs low). 80 calories each. I counted calories for the ingredients, then measured and counted out my portion. With low fat cheese, salsa, and low fat sour cream, I estimate two of these delicious and healthy tacos came to about 495 calories. I try to have one meal per day with no bread/grains, so I opted to leave grains out of my lunch today so I could have these tonight. My other option, without the grains, was to have the meat and salsa over lettuce (like a taco salad, without the taco shell), then it would have been about 335 calories. I've done that before...it's good that way too.
