Good morning all! Well, finally I went out since the first time I lost weight over a year ago. Five, ten years ago I was heavy, so I kind of gave up on dating. Last evening I went barhopping by myself and had a good time, and though I wasn't as lucky as I was in say when I was younger, I think things will work out fine if I keep going out. This self imposed monklike lifestyle of the past fourteen years is over! I'm not getting any younger and since I put so much work into getting thin again I may as well enjoy myself. No one I know is introducing me to anyone, etc. and the Internet I'm just back on so I'll see how that goes, but as all of you who know me I'm not yet a wealthy man at this stage of my life and that is all that women I'm finding are seeking who I meet. Going out was the best thing I've done for myself in years, and I'm really glad I did it and plan to go out a few times a week in the near future. Also, the diet is going well, I guess I did have some sugary alcoholic drinks but otherwise I kept to it well.

Just find a bar full of slighty used milf/cougars and cheap beer and you've be batting .500 in no time. I'm not sure how far you live from Boston but there's plenty of bars like that and there's some where people drink beers with straws if you want to feel refined lol.

Somehow the words refined and beer don't look right in the same sentance! LOL! A couple of good drinks to try: mojito (mo-hee-toe) which is rum and lime, diet coke and rum or Captain Morgan. If you like to relax with a cocktail at home you can try one of Baja Bob's low carb drink mixes. I have tried the margarita mix and it was very good and very low carb. You can get them online and some grocery stores are starting to carry them. I found mine at our local Giant Eagle.

Thanks for the encouragement splendidhammer and slease! Whew! Anyway, when I lived in L.A. I knew the bars to hit in Santa Monica where the women always said ahead of time they were from out of state so there were no strings attached. I'm in a college town, it has its faults but I think if I get out enough I'll do fine as at a gathering three months ago I was told I looked like I was in my thirties. I'll try diet coke and rum to start. Beer maybe... I'll be happy to be batting anything like a baseball player for that matter... :)

slease - thanks for the tip on the mojito, I don't think I've ever had it. I know how to say Spanish words - but it is good you wrote it out for those who may not. (Puedo leer espanol muy bien, y yo entiendo mucho espanol cuando yo oigo el idioma). I wrote I read Spanish very well, and I can understand a lot of Spanish when I hear the language. I imagine I'll be able to get the low carb liquor mixes at liquor stores, I didn't see them in our local grocery stores... :)
