well, bloodwork came back. My inflammation markers are high. Doc knows what the dietitian is recommending for me so she said to keep removing grains up and check back in a month or 2 and see if inflammation goes down.
FINALLY putting this 100k piece weight loss puzzle together and figuring it out.... i finally have an explanation why i cant lose- INFLAMMATION.

Writing Writingwyo, thank you for your reply! I have started taking semiglutide 3 weeks ago. In November I went to have a ganglion cyst taken off my left foot and walked out with a rare disease called charcot arthropathy. Basically my foot is disintegrating, caused my by non diabetic neuropathy. I am currently stuck in a CROW boot (Google it, it's a gawd awful thing, for up to 2 years to hopefully avoid amputation. So

All bets are off and the hunt is on to get down to a safe level of weight to keep my foot. At 57 I don't want to have to learn to walk on a prosthetic, the body doesn't heal too well as we age! The semiglutide is working, slows down peristaltic movement, but I average approx 750 to 1k kcals a day. I have to maintain at least 60 protein a day or weight loss drops and trying to do that without protein shakes is so hard!! Quinoa and beans don't have enough to keep me going, as I can only eat approx 3/4 cup of food 4x's a day. Every day is a huge challenge for me to figure it out and stay healthy and come out on top

Charcot is not talked about much but it is classified as a "permanent, debilitating disease to which there is no cure". CROW boot, weight offloading, and time. I am very limited in movement now, exercise aside from floor work is futile. For ANYONE with neuropathy that has any redness, inflammation, or lumps on your feet please don't ignore it and go get checked before it's too late! Dazey ty for letting me borrow your page!

Dazey, God bless your Greek heart! My husband's great grandfather played on the steps of the Parthenon as a little boy. I am blessed to be married into a Greek family! My Big Fat Greek wedding?? Spot on!!!!! We have a traditional Greek fest annually within the family. Spanikopita, a gift from God! 😘

Wow, hockeypuc. I have a hard enough time maintaining adequate protein on twice those calories. If you tolerate gluten ok, have you tried seitan? It's probably the highest protein to calorie ratio of any food I eat. I have an easy recipe if you want it. PM me if you do (caveat:I don't often check messages, so may be slow to respond. ) And honestly...if you need protein shakes to hit the goals you need for optimum health, there's no shame in that. Also -- a lot of green veggies (I'm looking at you, broccoli) have a very high protein to calorie ratio, too. Not a huge amount, due to low calories, but good proportions. Soy products can also be a good option. Best of luck! I commend you on the steps you're taking for your health! 😃👍

The anti inflammatory diet is very similar to the Mediterranean diet. I try, my doctor has been very clear about what I should and should not eat. I don't eat much meat so get to enough protein daily is challenging. I'm a lousy cook but am interested in learning more, especially cooking fish. From what I've read, dairy should avoided, UNLESS it's low fat or nonfat. I drink 2 cups of fat free milk most days.

I totally understand what is happening as you describe it. Keep doing the best you can do, and maybe you will see good responses from some food changes that you choose.
