Hi all I’m currently in the process of being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It’s be a very long and difficult time. Does anyone have this and can you offer any advice of how to get no1. Fatigue to be better no2. Ease pain etc I have been advise to ask for pain patches as the tablets are just making feel sick / be sick and make sleep impossible. I am trying moderate exercise but obviously when your in to much pain it’s just not possible which I have been advised to do a lot as this would “ease the pain” TIA hope you all have a wonderful day 💖

I have had fibromyalgia for many years and it was such a relief when I was finally diagnosed because I thought I was going insane. My symptoms were so unreal. The lack of sleep was the biggest problem for me. My pain is worst at the top of my outer legs, so I am constantly spinning in bed. I take Cocodamol and Amitriptyline. Full given dose. I usually get 5 hours unbroken sleep with them. The side effects are tough, constipation is nasty. I can honestly say that doing 3 hour long sessions a week of Aquafit do more for me than any pill. yes it hurts in the beginning but I never get to crisis point anymore. Being in that much pain is awful. I have tried morphine patches in the past but they make me nauseous. Just finding a sympathetic doctor is hard because some doctors really have no idea that Fibromyalgia is a real illness and just laughed when I was in crisis. I feel for you and hope you get the help you need

Thank you everyone for your support and advice it means a lot it really is hard to get a dr to take me seriously I had one yesterday who literally did not care didn’t listen to me at all felt like crying but didn’t want him to hear me! I have been referred to pain management so just waiting for that and I’ll try the other advice while I’m waiting. Have a lovely day all ❤️

Hi, I’ve had ME and fibro for 15 years. I’ve tried everything. My best advice is - gentle exercise but only when you can tolerate it, don’t push past your limits. Learn to pace so you don’t over do day to day activities. If you need a rest day, take it. Look at your diet - cut out sugar, dairy, soya and gluten to see if it helps. Don’t eat processed food. Black seed oil has been a big help to me with fatigue and has reduced my pain. Research how to lower inflammation with food and supplements, this will also help. Good luck!

I can't do any heavy weights, unfortunately the only way to be diagnosed is if I start HRT tablets, if Mt body feels better and no injuries, then it's not fibre.m. if HRT works but my muscles still remain painful ect then I have it, that's what the gp said.... my twin suffers with it. badly. especially at night in bed. it annoys me cus I want to use free weights and it hinders me all the time, if it's not my neck, it's my shoulder, or back I have plantar fasceitus excuse spelling, and running is my sport but atm it is really hindering my running. injuries are not great. I feel for u. could u try electric therapy, ?
