Can I just say, mayonnaise will be the death of me,,,how in the heck can 1 TBSP be 100 calories??! 😄. Sometimes I wonder how the calorie count goes so high, but it’s little things like mayo, cream in coffee, etc that all add up. Definitely need to be more mindful of that. From now on, just adding some lemon juice to my tuna instead of mayo

Totally! Condiments can really add up!

Have you tried substituting low fat mayo and maybe full fat or 2% milk instead of cream? I have not really noticed any taste difference and the reduction in calories adds up over the long-term.

Greek yogurt or hummus work well as substitutes in certain dishes too 😉

I had a good laugh at your post! I have long used guacamole or mashed avocado as a spread instead of mayo. I tried the fat free low cal one but my dietician said its better to have real mayo in moderation. now that im doing keto im back to eating mayo and loving it! just made chicken salad for lunch on lettuce leaves. total 500 cals of which 300 cal is from mayo! ha ha. look out for oil in cooking too! those splashed of oil in the pan can add hundreds of cals that might get overlooked if not measured and tracked.

Greek yaourt is perfect with JUST a 1/4 teaspoon of mayo... to have the so good taste of mayo. After be use to yaourt, skip the mayo and add lemon juice, fine herbes paprika or other "condiments" (in french) or seasoning. Good luck!

I use a small amount of balsamic dressing in tuna & find it delicious 😋

I would drive myself insane if I were one who counted calories. Being a low carber person generally, I am more interested in counting net carbs and sugars. If you have the ability to make your own mayonnaise then that would be even better than the store bought stuff as you would be controlling the quality of ingredients going in. There is a recipe which I haven't tried as yet called Butter Mayo where you replace the oil with melted butter or you could probably use Ghee. The fat content & calorie count would go up with it but most likely one would use less of it. I guess I need to test it out and get back to you on that ;)
