Still feeling good about my progress. I totaled 11,714 steps today -- and I may have to take the dogs out one more time. Spent 33 minutes on the recumbent elliptical -- but I decided to start just recording the data from my pedometer app instead of trying to break down other exercise that generates "steps." But I did record the weight training at the gym separately. I really worked hard at the gym today, and I walked the dogs a full mile this morning because the weather report suggested that might be the only long walk we got today.

Can't always record all my food correctly. Tonight we had chicken mole pie from Hoosier Mama's bakery. But I recorded everything else today, and based on my exercise data, even if that pie was 750 calories, I'm still just fine on the day.

Overall, I'm happy with the changes I'm making: Weighing meat portions carefully... filling my plate with veggies, including high fiber veggies, and substituting cauliflower and barley for potatoes or rice. I discovered I especially like a roasted half tomato with parmesan instead of potato as a side dish. Tomorrow I'm making pasta sauce, and I will have that on steamed cauliflower instead of pasta. Oh, and another great potato substitute: Roasted patty-pan squash stuffed with barley, onion & celery, with a little parm on top. Delicious and hearty.

So maybe I can keep this up long enough to lose the 60 pounds I'm trying to take off AGAIN. Wanting this to be the last time around. I'm getting too old for this.
