I love Sketchers. And tacos! Chicken stew sounds good. I hope you can get something done about your knee soon.

Thanks Liv. My doctor confirmed some things I didn't really want to believe. But I am hoping physical therapy will help. Will try out the shoes today!

Thanks Morticia! Since there won't be a Jim boy's closer than 450 miles when I move to Oregon, I am stopping for tacos almost every time I go to town, usually once or twice a month. I love chicken stew, make it instead of beef stew.

Thanks Liv! Just got back from walking about 45 minutes or so. Didn't walk all that far I am just very slow. About 20 minutes before getting back home I figured out I went out too far. Have the beginnings of a blisters on both heals and my knee aches! It always takes a couple of days to break in new shoes. Now to start making the stew.

It does take a few days. I wear my shoes indoor for a bit before I take them out on a longer outdoor walk

Heels. I made it back just before it started raining. Wasn't expecting brain until tonight. The knee feels fine now but ill put a band aid on both heels before my next walk. The shoes are pretty so glad I didn't get them wet

So sorry you've been having so much trouble with your knees. Hope the physical therapy helps. I get a lot of swelling in my ankles too. Shoes are a real problem for me. I only wear thong shoes 99.9% (even heels) because of a very large bunion. People laugh at me for having a heavy coat on and "sandals" with bare feet. I know I look silly. Once in a while I wear socks with the thongs.

Wow, you are going through a lot! Sounds like you are getting it all surrounded. I've been interested in those Sketchers. Please let us know how those workout for you!

Thanks Snow White. I had never noticed the swelling in my ankles before. I looks like a round swollen area full of fluid near the ankle bone. I don't wear thong sandals but wear slipper socks in the house and shoes that are easy to slip on when I go outside.

Thanks BadJujugirl. I had seen the Skechers shoes advertised so much and was interested in them because you can just step into them. I bought a good pair of walking shoes a year ago but it takes so much effort to put them on that I avoid using them. I looked at Skechers on their website but there are so many it was hard to figure out what I needed. I went to Famous Footwear and the sales clerk was able to shoe me which ones have enough support for walking. She said so many people are coming in for them. I bought a half size smaller than typical because they only had them in wide. But they are so easy to step into and look nice

I deal with lower leg and ankle swelling from inflammation and joint problems. I found restricting my sodium intake combined with using Advil and compression socks controls it fairly well most of the time. You don't realize how much sodium you consume until you start reading the label information on everything.

Thanks ParaNerdGirl I have swollen areas on both ankles on the outside , more on the foot below the ankle bone. They are the size of golf balls. My doctor says it's inflammation probably caused by arthritis. I track sodium daily. Its usually low when I eat at home and don't eat canned soup. I don't add much salt to my food. If I stir fry then the sodium is crazy high because of soy sauce
