I'm quite often in a 1000 + calorie deficit a day. still the weight won't come off. I'm wondering if the exercise calorie burner guide is inaccurate or maybe the calorie guide is. Does anyone else have any thoughts or experiences in this area?

Sometimes it can be what you eat and when you eat it. Try talking to a personal trainer or nutritionist. It’s not just about calories but pay attention to calorie density. I try to eat what gives me more volume for fewer calories, & aim for lower fat & higher protein. Eat less calorie dense foods that have less stomach volume e.g. 38 g of bread has 100 calories where 200 g of potato has the same 100 calories. This means the potato will help you feel fuller & provide more energy than the bread.

Yes, I do all of that. Once in a while I'll indulge in something sweet or salty, then I compensate for the caloric intake, but that's not too often. Other then that, I'm not sure why I'm stagnating. I am post medapausal, maybe it has something to do with that. According to this app, I'm burning 2x what I'm taking in a day.

I get that as well. I wish there was a way of turning off the 'Sleeping/Resting' calories burned. I know we burn those calories but it's not the same as physically doing/moving. So, I ignore those calories and just go by the 'Activity & Exercise' calories burned.

Calories out is a complicated equation with many variables. I find that most calorie intake targets generally have activity factored in to the value. For these reasons, I find it is far more effective to only focus on calories in, and being as consistent as possible with it. Calories out can be impacted by things like a poor night's sleep, stress, hormone fluctuations...tough to accurately predict or estimate. That's my opinion, anyway.

Thanks for the input, I'll keep plugging along. The closer you are to your target weight, the harder it is to loose it (I have 20 lbs to go). I'm not sure what else is left to 'adjust', but I find getting input from others is very encouraging. Thank you my FS friends.
