Almost 6 years of hard work and approaching 30kgs lost. Months of plateaus. Many ups and downs. But just made the hard choices each day and it paid off’

Well done, can you please share some eating plans with me. I am diabetic and struggle to loose weight. Need to loose 35kg🌸

I have eaten low carb for 6 years. I counted calories until I could manage to eye ball and know what my body needs (4 years of counting). I eat lots of eggs, veggies and fruit, fish, seeds (cheaper than nuts), meat especially chicken and venison. I don’t eat carbs except for lots of veg, so my fibre intake is still high (20-35g daily). I don’t eat seed oils. Only olive oil, macadamia oil and some cold pressed coconut oil. Limited dairy. Not the usual ‘everything in moderation’. That doesn’t work for me. I don’t snack but I do eat 3 meals a day, fasting isn’t for me. They say, with keto/low carb- it’s like marriage, it only works if you don’t cheat. I stick to that. By fruit- I mean berries, not other fruits. I have found this way of eating cost effective too- I am not wealthy at all. Hardly ever eat nuts, and most of my lunches are canned fish of some sort. Them and eggs and chicken are cheap and I eat cheap veggies like cabbage, pumpkin (lower carb than butternut) gem squash, lettuce, etc

I find berries very expensive but worth it. I can go through R 100 worth of blueberries (200 grams) in a few minutes. Same with strawberries. Can't do frozen, life is too short for that.
